I had some cheapo ones from walmart that walked. I purchased a different scope (bushnell rimfire) and the rings that i had on there didn't walk when I was sighting it in at 25 yards.
Unfortunately, I took it off, and need sight it in again when I go to the range next. Hopefully it won't walk. If it does, I think I'll get the 1 piece mount and try that out. If that doesn't work I'm going to drill and tap a mount in.

I would say its with newer ones. Mine 795 is about a year old now and my scope and rings walked back when I bought it.
I am still using my rings..just tightened them well and all seems well so far.Leave a comment:

Most people on RFC seem to really like the UTG 1 piece rail setup. It fixes the problem and is very inexpensive too.(less then $15 on the net) The 3 screws tightening on the rail along with a stop screw on the top of the mount secure it very very well.
DIP also makes a weaver rial to mount on the 3/8 rail that gets secured pretty well but it is kinda pricey, it also gets rave reviews.
Link to this UTG rail? I see alot of generic UTG rails out there.Leave a comment:

I started shooting at a 25 yard range and I'm almost zeroed in but I decided to shoot my friends xd40 instead. I'm just an in below center and will center it on ties. Only problem now is that my scope moves and loosen when I shoot it.
The gun shoots to the right without the scope. The guy at big 5 said that I had to nudge the rear sight to the left to fix it. So will try it out next time
It's really fun shooting this thing since I make really tight groups. I wish I could shoot this accurately with my pistol LOL.Leave a comment:

Awesome, just found the 25$ cash card coupon on the paperOriginally posted by jotarou1I just finished my paperwork at the Sacramento Sports Authority this evening. Can't wait for April 10th.
It was 149.99, but it came with a $25 cash card to use on a future purchase (buying a hard case with it). Also with the $25 Marlin rebate, should make it $99.99.
Awesome deal!Leave a comment:

Look for something that is standing out at the berm, like a white rock, etc, or broken piece of target, etc. There should be no grass so you can see your round kicking up dirt. That's how you see where you're hitting.Leave a comment:

Please walk me through that process, because I don't think I understand it. If you can't see it hit paper at 25 yards (through the scope) because it's not hitting the paper, how are you seeing it hit a berm 2x as far away? And what if the berm has grass on it?Leave a comment:

If you are shooting @ 25 and 50 yds save your money and get a 3-9x or 4-14x scope and you can easily see the bullet holes at those ranges. I shoot out to 100 yds with a 7-21x and have no problem seeing the holes with my 64 year old eyes. You really don't need a spotting scope unless you are shooting with iron sights. Shoot-N-C targets work very good as well.I finally shot this gun, but I am so embarrassed at how bad I was! All the 25 yard rifle range spots were taken, so I had no choice but to shoot at 50 yards. I never sighted a scope before and didn't think it would be so bad out of the box. After 15 minutes it was time to retrieve the target and to my surprise, I hit nothing! Talked with a guy at the range and he said it was the scope lol. Will fix it tomorrow
Then I decided I'd shoot a pistol and let my cousin shoot my rifle. He shot it without the scope and was all lower right.
I really want to get a spotting scope, but I read that I need to spend at least $200 to get a good one! :-OLeave a comment:
