Yeah, I got my marlin from Big 5 last year. It mine came with the lock. I was also able to use the 10% off sale item/20% off regular priced item too! Now I notice that the coupon states no firearms or ammo which sucks.

I'm calling BS on the fact that the lock it came with wasn't good enough. I'm not saying the member who posted this is wrong, I'm mad at the people from the store. As I understand it, most guns ship with locks. I've heard of shops that take these off and then "resell" them to the paying customer.

I've never seen a lock that wasn't CA approved.

I signed up to be a member here at Calguns.net just to be able o get different points of view on things. But excuse me for saying this. I don't intend to tick anyone off or cause any problems. I love coming to Cali to vacation from time to time. I have relatives that live in SoCal.
But after reading and reading about the hoops that you people have to jump through to be able to exercise your 2nd amendment rights it just kills me. I do so feel for you and the uphill battle you have to go through everyday. I do wish you all success in getting rid of the liberal representation that "works for you" in Sacramento because I am not sure that my stomach can take much more of the stuff they have done to you.

The lock that came with my 795 is built like a tank. Thick 1/4" steel formed around the receiver that blocks access to the mag well and the ejection port and locks with a Master Lock. padlock. I can't even imagine what a California approved lock looks like!

I do live in Arizona and have no plans to ever relocate to SoCal(I know it just breaks your hearts that I am not coming over... LOL). I like having Arizona's constitutional carry law(Don't have to have concealed permit to carry concealed and open carry has always been legal here). I do have a CCW permit and it does a few extra things for me here. When I buy a gun from a dealer/FFL I do fill out a 4473 but then I walk out the door with my gun in hand, no NICS check is required, no 11 days waiting period no extra fees for the extra paperwork. Things aren't perfect here either, but dang folks, isn't enough enough?

I'm pretty damn sure that that is incorrect, given that both new Marlins we just bought came with factory cable locks that both my FFL guy and Turners signed off on.

Thanks man. A couple of my friends who own bigger guns like Mosin-Nagants and 9mm's got interested after I told them about the Marlin and are thinking about getting one.

Went to the one in Irvine (Orange County). Got the last one they had in stock.

Maybe. Check out their website. I checked the weekly flyer for the SF area $164 - $25 mail in rebate = $139.

The rifle comes with swivel studs.
