I got away w/ reinforcing the buffer with a foam earplug thinking that something like solid steel might be a little harsh....not saying it's a bad move, I really don't know.

If you want action from Remington...quack like a duck...otherwise nothing with ever happen. Call them...complain...as far as I know, they acted like I'm the only one who has. It's going to take more complaints than just mine for them to take action. They really blew me off with a response like: make sure your gun is assembled properly and don't use un-approved ammo, took em' a week to even get back

I left contact information in a previous post. If you learn anything report back so that I'll be "compliant" as well.

Yeah, I'm still a little pissed.

My 795 is out of jail in 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I already have tech-sights, swivels, and a sling waiting for it. Tomorrow sight it in for 25 yards to be ready for Appleseed in Piru on the 10th and 11th.

My daughter will be shooting the 795 and I will be shooting my Glenfield/Marlin 60 at Appleseed. I'm cheating and have a scope.

There doesn't seem to be place where I can put down a level.
Lock the bolt back, put something in there like a popsicle stick, use the level with the popsicle stick.

    Or eyeball it.

Or get one of those level sets that Wheeler makes, that's basically a level with a tab sticking out of the side to put into the ejection port or on the receiver.

Planning on taking my newly LTR-ed 795 out to some BLM tomorrow for some familiarization/practice before the Corona 210 in September! I already loved this rifle before, now with tech sights should be even more fun

Interesting! I don't know much about guns, but if somethinb like that happened on my hotrod id just tackweld that sucker. Maybe that would ruin the barrel.

Well cool, ill keep my eyes peeled for that. If you need a mailing box, I still got mine, you're welcome to it.

nah, took about 3 years, but i thought i might as well work on it myself since i can see how in time the same problem will come up again with just a pressed in and pinned barrel that has this hammer banging on the back it with each shot..
I just went the glue/expoxy route and so far it's holding up. (about 400 rounds)

Im no expert, but 2,000 rounds sounds awfully low to have a barrel loosening up. Can't send it in? Or did it take 5 years to run that many rounds through it?

I was so bumped out that I missed the Marlin 795 sale from last week's ad, so i went in there today to do the next best thing, purchase a Marlin 60, I almost brought it but I hesitated because of the tube feed magazine, then I told him I was kicking myself for missing the Marlin 795 sale from last week, to my surprise the sales staff told me it is still on sale for the same price 134-25 rebate, needless to say I was a happy camper and purchase it right away.

So yes you can still purchase it right now for 134 - 25 rebate. So go, if you miss the opportunity.

gotta ove those flimsy aluminium receivers with the pinned in barrel; roundcount about 2k; barrel loose in the receiver...

Took the retainer pin out, cleaned everything and used epoxy to glue the barrel back in the receiver. Got lucky i guess since the barrel linded up well with the scope, it's accurate from '0' to 100 yards and so far it's been haninging in there

It was my very first firearm, and i tuned the heck out of it (so i'm keeping it), but after this first 22 i only bought the older 'all metal stuff', in my opinion this is a firearm build with toy grade materials... and that's not to piss on Marlin, the new 10/22's aren't much better at twice the price.

Fun little rifle but i would have rather spend $50 or $100 more for something that had more steel and less plastic & aluminium components
