Just picked a 795 from my local tuners. How well does this shoot the federal 22lr bulk ammo. I've got a lot of this stuff i need to get rid of

CDNN periodically has a good sale on 10rd mags. Their normal price is about 13 or 14 bucks.

DIP makes a rail, cdnn has cheap mags sometimes.

I don't think I have more than half a brick through it, but it sure seems like I had a bunch of ftf with the 10/22 vs none with the 925 and bulk federal.

Of course I was using bulk remington green box I think, the ruger hated it.

I also shot my 795 the other week and the CCI Mini-Mag RN shot great. However, the Winchester Super X High Velocity kept having FTE on every 3rd or 4th round. So after 30 rounds of that and about 8-10 FTE, I went back to the Mini-Mag which shot w/o a hitch. Maybe I could have oiled my 795 more as the Super X are part of the recommended ammo for the Marlin 795 in their manual. Or could be my rifle just doesn't like that ammo.

I shot my 795 and a Ruger Mark II on sunday, shot about 250 rounds, dialed in my walmart 4 x 32 centerpoint scope and had zero FTF with either gun and I was using Federal BUlk ammo, I'm sold on .22LR for my primary rifle range weapons even though I pick up my Saiga 7.62 this week and am building an AR15 too.

Bipod leg springs should be stiff. You don't want them to deploy by accident, or fold up at the slightest bump. The only way it would make any sense to use lighter springs is if it has some kind of notched locking mechanism that prevented them from rotating.

I'll take better pictures next time, just wanted to show the parts as they came in.

I think the nut to the sling swivel adapter need to be tightened with a wrench, so I'll go back to adjust that, as hand tighten isn't secure after messing around with the rifle. Might have to replace the springs with something from Home Depot, as they are very stiff. Anyone try this yet?

Hopefully I can bring it to the range this weekend and zero it in. I think 4x is more than enough for a 22lr's effective range, but I still have adjustability if needed.

On another mag tangent, does anyone know of a commercial or DIY "clip" to lock 2, 3 or 4 10 rd. mags together, butt to butt, similar to the Eagle mag or tri-mag affect for the 10/22 ?

Haven't tried it, but there are several reviews out there that aren't too good. I recall there being some reviews on youtube as well.

The best option is the DIP scope base,IMO it is by far the best scope base for 795, although it is little expensive http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail....64829&CAT=3603
