    haha.......that's a good answer.
How about durability in the long run? would regular version rust more easily?

Keep the metal greased/oiled and it shouldn't matter. Hell, I guess it could even be spray painted..

I have the blued version, no rust issues. Plenty of people have used blued firearms for decades. Taken them to battlefields, hunting trips in deserts, swamps, forests, and still manage to take care of the finish. Just don't leave oily fingerprints(the oil from your gross hands is acidic, has salt in it, and is pretty nasty in general) all over it, and keep it wiped down like you should any firearm in blued or stainless as regular maintenance. A blued finish can wear(like holster wear on pistols, not really an issue on a rifle), and over time(like 80+ years) that blue/black color can turn into a brownish color but it'll still be fine.

thanks for the reply. I guess I'll go for the blued version, it's always good to save some money on the gun just to spend on ammo.

I bought the stainless, so it's a fraction.

It's Friday June 24th and I took advantage of the Turners sale on the 795 which is advertised as $134.98 (and $109.98 after $25 rebate). Feels like a very nice rifle, was looking for a model 60 with synthetic stock but figured this is cheaper. Anyway the total bill from Turners came to $178.63, so when I get the $25 from Marlin the "out the door" price will be $153.63.

Just figured I would let everyone know the final cost after the dust settles. Can't wait to pick it up in 11 days.

Just bought one from gilroy sports authority with $25 gift card promo.
There were 2 with different serial # style. One was all numbers starts w/91, the other starts w/ letters, then numbers then letter.
What's the difference and which one is better in general?

So what was the price on it? Do you immediately get the $25 gift card?

The price was $149.99 plus tax and dros fees. They give you a $25 coupon valid for a specific date range to use later.

91XXXXX means it was made by Marlin
MMXXXXG means its a newer one made at the Remington plant. The newer Remington ones seem to have less issues then the last Marlin made ones
