I guess I am lost, kind of new to all this stuff. I am just use to the normal scope mounts not this hole picatinny rail system. So what do I deen to put a picatinny rail on this gun? Again sorry if this has been covered in here I just found this site and thread and am in the process of reading when I have time. If I go with this http://www.diproductsinc.com/Detail....86947&CAT=3603 is that all I need for the scope I put the link up for and will anything that fits on a picatinny rail fit it also or are there different size rails?Last edited by smitymike11; 11-01-2011, 10:05 PM.Leave a comment:

The link is for picatinny rail. You need a 3/8 base.I just bought one of these for my 11 year old son and have a question. I have been looking at buying the picatinny scope base because it looks like there are a lot of options for those kind of rails. The quaetion I have is what will mount to it? I see it is a 3/8 rail and when I went to Dicks sporting good they had a red dot sight but they told me it was for a bigger rail and that he didnt think they made anything that fit the rail for the 795. Was he wrong or is everything made for a bigger rail? I was looking at this site http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/pr...ductId=4301392 Will that fit?Leave a comment:

You need 9.525 mm or 3/8" dovetail adapter. The link is for 11mm.Is this the one? So if I buy this rail then any of the stuff made to mount on a rail will work and I do not need to buy anything else? Sorry if this has been asked allready, there is just a ton of info on here and I have not read it all yet. Also he is getting ready to start deer hunting and will be using a SKS and I just wanted something that is interchangable that way if he finds a sight he likes I could use it on both guns.Leave a comment:

Also, most bipods that attach to the front sling stud have a secondary attach point if you still wish to attach a 2-point sling underneath.Last edited by smitymike11; 11-01-2011, 6:12 PM.Leave a comment:

Go back about 10-15 posts and read, there is a picatinny rail, and scope mount people have linked that work.I just bought one of these for my 11 year old son and have a question. It's not necessary, but there are people who have no idea how to use their irons and their scope breaks or the mount falls off or something and then they act like the gun might as well be a club. Other people think they need a $1000 optic to hit something 50 yards away, and some people buy a $30 scope that won't hold a zero and then blame the rifle.
edit: Another example of learning to do something that people have a habit of not doing(laziness maybe) would be shooting from a position other than from sandbags on a 400 pound bench/table. Last time I was at the range, literally everyone with a rifle was using bags on the bench and I was literally the only one out of probably 30 people using my sling instead with my marlin(I was still being lazy sitting on the stool because I was busy keeping an eye on a new shooter I took with me).
There are probably a few other "lazy" things that a lot of shooters do(probably myself included).Last edited by Merc1138; 10-31-2011, 1:13 AM.Leave a comment:

no offense to joe bob (his prices are normally awesome), but when i shopped for the rail on my 795, the $32 part compared to the $8 part was a no-brainer...Yes the extended adapter part has a sling stud hole on the end so you can still use a sling.
Or buy it direct
and yea that UTG one scootle posted should work fine too
