WOW!! Those are some sweet guns. Where did you get then guns you are using for the stocks? Are they working guns or nonworking? That sound like a lot of work but looks like it will bw worth it.

yea will do. i really wanted to do an MP5 with a skeleton stock but i wont work. it would work with an MP5 with a solid butt stock and id have to do a bullpup trigger linkage inside of the butt stock

I also have a XM8, L85, AK47 that I plan to modify as well with the marlin.

My SCAR. Upper receiver is metal. Lower and stock are plastic. Conversion will be in december. Will be repainted black at the end.

I just put a deposit on this M60 shell today. Paid $210 used. I'll work on converting this to another Marlin 795 in December.

Here are my upcoming projects.

Here's my M14 EBR stock. All metal. Paid $100 used. I'm starting the gutting and dremeling process this weekend.




My M870 shotgun. Paid $50 new so it's a store model that doesnt work. All metal except for the handguard. It's already gutted. Starting the dremeling process this weekend. Receiver is small so there's not much to cut. I plan to add tri rails to the pump handguard





My M249 SAW. All metal. Paid $100 used. I have to buy a new handle since it was missing. Repainting everything black when its done. It's been gutted and dremeled the floor. Still need to cut out the ejection port and lay the bedding and support brackets.

its a double eagle UMG stock. i paid about $100 for it and ripped out the internals. its plastic. only thing that's metal are the rails.

its mainly dremeling the floor of the receiver.
expand the barrel diameter inside the stock
cutting the sides of the receiver since the trigger guard sits higher than a 10/22
cutting off the trigger guard
cutting the plastic magazine

its only 50% done. here's my plans to create a bed

1) i have to first wrap the receiver and barrel in foil and then plastic seran wrap.
2) position the gun inside of the stock.
3) spray the expanding styrofoam to fill up the gaps.
4) let it cure.
5) take out the gun
6) clean up and sand down the styrofoam
7) cut open the bed and put in 1" diameter pvc piping
8) wrap a layer of steel putty over the styrofoam bed and let it cure
9) clean up and sand down the steel putty (optional)
10) use more steel putty around other areas you think to eliminate movement

i also bought aluminum sheetmetal. i plan to cut these in strips and create support brackets. also i will line up the walls with the sheetmetal to provide a better backbone and to reduce flexing.

1 inch diamater pvc piping will also provide a backbone inside of the styrofoam and act as a buffer.

CDNN got mags on sale for $12 each and the shipping special is $7. They also have M14 slings for $9.

There might be some slide on brake with a set screw out there(I haven't seen one for the marlins) but it wouldn't accomplish anything. I've fired pellet guns with more kick than a 795.

The only thing a muzzle brake will do on a .22 is maybe change the barrel harmonics and ruin accuracy. No recoil on a .22, even 22Mag and 17HMR have very little recoil.
