I retire in 26 years and plan on moving out of state. I shoot my .22lr conversion weekly in my backyard range and I'm trying to calculate how much .22lr I need to last me another 26 years. I'm being forced into learning how to reload now since I can't afford to stock up 26 years worth of practice ammunition.
I have thousands of rounds of Winchester Super-X .22 L.R. I bought back in the 80's. I just shot over 400 rounds of it this past week. Every one went bang, and was very accurate. Keep it cool and dry and it will last longer than you.

With the election results, availability is going to go up and prices will go down.

Hopefully we'll see sub $250 cases of Federal bulk by the summer.

It's already happening. I just got back from Cabela's yesterday morning. They had a special 1 day only, on 325 round cartons of Federal High Velocity .22 Hollow Points for just $ 17.99 each with no limit. I bought 4 cartons. I had a $ 10.00 Off coupon which knocked it down to just $ 15.49 a carton.

It was funny because I got there just as they opened at 9:00 AM, and EVERYONE went straight for the .22's! No one was buying anything else. I grabbed my 4 boxes and got in line. The 3 people in front of me had several cartons, along with everyone behind me. Some people had 20 cartons or more. I'm guessing because they had no limit on it, they must have had pallets of the stuff.

Now with Trump in, and the Hildabeast gone for good, I suspect this stuff will all get cheaper. Especially after Christmas after everyone is spent out. It looks like all of these "shortages" are finally over. Thank God.
