about 6 months ago I bought a case of 22 (5k rounds) never thought i would do that as I always bought a 100 rounds to go shooting with because 22 is not my favorite toy. I now have 2 cases and think I should get another 2.
22 is the only loaded ammo I buy, I reload everything else I shoot and I am not a hoarder, I will use up every primer and grain of powder I have, it just will take 4 or 5 years to do that.sigpic

Wife just bought a rifle the other day ....... while she was paper working .... I walked around and found 3 bricks of 22 and a few targets and a 2017 calendar to bring home with me.
I need 22 like I need a hole in my head ...... but no way was I leaving empty handedIf you start thinking like a Free Man

You mean "hoarding" in the psychological sense? Or, in the dictionary meaning sense? With all the talk of stocking up /hoarding .22 ammo, I was woundering at what point does one become a hoarder. Is it 500 or 500,000 or somewhere in between? I can't seem to stop buying the stuff, I can't help myself I'd like to know if I should consider myself a hoarder or just well prepared. What say you?

Psych=Buying, Saving/Storing it on your bed, in the kitchen cabinets..and NOT ever using it or giving it away!
Dictionary.com=to accumulate for preservation, future use, etc., in a hidden or carefully guarded place...(sounds like most folks here).
We have a shortage in this state! Otherwise, I would see CCI Mini Mags #30 every time I went to Wally Mart or my local LGS. The last time I could buy an affordable case of #30 was 4 years ago, $200 cheaper than today's price!
And, no 500k is not too much if you shoot it!

More tha a million rounds is probably a bit much. Anything up to that...

Picked up another 10k rounds of MiniMag HPs yesterday, $975.77 OTD. I have four grandkids and can shoot in the backyard, so I'm buying while I can. It used to be a brick was too much, but it was plentiful and cheap. Now it is neither, and the future looks bleaker.Last edited by Teachu2; 11-08-2016, 11:12 AM.Comment

Some of my 1990's Remington .22LR had some white stuff coming out between the lead and brass. It affected feeding, gumed it all up. I tried a revolver but extracting cases was also tough.
I try not to have more than a couple year's worth these days.Comment
