Got the last one @ Lanbo's Armory for $399.95. Seemed to be the best price around.
What had actually got me looking at these again was the fact that Henry now seems to have released one of their Silver Eagle engraved models in 17 HMR:
Beautiful guns, but I just couldn't pop for one at that price. So I did some searching and found what I considered a bargain on the H001TV at Lanbo's.sigpic

Dicks doesn't have the CCI ammo designed for the A17 which is faster.
I already have several 17 HMR rifles and no ammo so I don't need a 4th rifle I can't shoot.
I don't know were you guys live but there is no 17HMR or 22 lr here for about 3 years now.
I can't sit in a parking lot at 6 AM then rush the door to buy 1 box like others can.
Dicks had a ad in the Sunday paper saying they had ammo and they never even had 1 box so I'm not buying on a pipe dream.Lynn Dragoman, Jr.

What's with the complaining that ammo (17hmr or .22lr) is hard to come by?
Try gunbot.net or wikiarms.com all the ammo you could ever need. Yes the prices arn't as good as they used to be but at least your shooting. No need to get keep checking your local store for overpriced ammo, just order online and all you have to check is your front porch."Bangarang Peter!"Comment

Yeah 17 HMR is dying, I have had to buy 2 new rifles in that caliber because my friends keep stealing mine.......
Just kidding. I have let 3 people use my 17's while hunting and they all bought their own after using them."I would kill for a Nobel peace prize." Steven Wright"

Yeah, it was a lot nicer "in the old days" when you could buy for about $11/box shipped. But you are right - at least it is still available. I just bought some that Cabela's had on sale. Fortunately I had a "$20 off if you spend $150" coupon (sorry, one time use), so that paid for the shipping and then a bit more. Came out to $12.66/box shipped so now it looks like we are paying about $1.50/box more than before. What's with the complaining that ammo (17hmr or .22lr) is hard to come by?

But it is such a fun round to shoot!sigpic
