I have a SS 5-20X50 already, I paid 1000$ for it which is normally 1500$ on the first deal swfa had.
So this deal means you get the same scope and the 1-6 scope for 1587$
I dont think id really need that 1-6 scope though.2 HANDGUNS STOLEN! 1 RECOVERED READ HERE

When Snipers Hide deal was going on it was the Illuminated version...
I really wish the 5-20x50 was Illuminated for this package deal... I am more intrested in the 1-6x scope, but its time I should probably put a serious long range optic on my Remmy 700. Guess I can live without the Illuminated, I usually shoot durring the day anyways.
Not a bad deal... Might have to jump on this one.ExtremeXComment

hmm you are right its not illum, i have the illum one and i think its not that great. the red light spreads around beyond the lines. my vortex scope has illum as well and i think its done better.2 HANDGUNS STOLEN! 1 RECOVERED READ HERE

Just curious... Many online reviews say the SWFA SS HD outclasses the Vortex PST line. Often compared to the Razor line along with other higher end optics in the $1500-2k price range. Nightforce with their F1 series being in a totally different price class.
Whats your opinion on the SWFA products? If I order, ill be ordering in the blind without any first hand experience with them. Decent chunk of change to spend having never seen the product before.
I have a use for both scopes, but really don't want to be stuck with something that was hyped. Is it truly better, more durable, better tracking and glass than the Vortex Viper PST FFP 4-16 and 6-24? I can live without illum if it really is as good as people say it is. Vortex gets a lot of praise and recommendation, including from myself.ExtremeXComment

I do own both, 750$ vortex FFP illum 4-16 vs 1000$ SS 5-20
I actually bought through optics planet and got 10% off that 750$.
both are well built, the SS is beefier. I personally would go with another vortex pst because of the lower cost and still great glass. the SS is good too but i think with something like the vortex i think comparable to the SS at a lower cost id go with the vortex. I havent seen a nightforce or those 1500-2000$ scopes though so I cant say on those.
I like the illumination better on the vortex though. I havent used them enough to give a really in depth review.
hopefully someone else can chime in.2 HANDGUNS STOLEN! 1 RECOVERED READ HERE

I havent had the time to test both to that extent.
If budget is a concern go for the vortex.
Both are clear glass to my eyes. Prices did go up a bit, last i checked the same vortex went up about 50$2 HANDGUNS STOLEN! 1 RECOVERED READ HERE

For those that grabbed the deal, what mount(s) are you considering for the pair?.

I have been reading a ton of mixed reviews on which has better glass. Can you look through both at max power at something far away like a sign or billboard and see if you can read the lettering through one better then the other. Really trying to justify the 1600+mounts+sunshade.

I havent ordered them yet, but im pretty sure I am going with....
AADMOUNT for the 5-20
LaRue SPR for the 1-6x
Discover LaRue precision rifles, mounts, triggers, and rifle components built in Texas for shooters who demand proven performance and precision.
Im want the SPUHR 1 peice mount really bad, but I dont think I am going to end up spending that type of coin. Their 2 peice rings are amazing, if I put it in a bolt gun I might end up using them.
Check out my 1 peice mount thread.
If you want to really save some money you might want to look at the Burris PERP.ExtremeXComment

There is a lot more to glass than just reading the lettering on a billboard... light transmission, edge detail, edge softness, clarity in the outer edges, color, contrast, chromatic aberration control (one of my biggest peeves when looking for glass)... If you have experience with high end camera lenses, shopping for scopes isn't any different. Then beyond just glass clarity we have build quality, durability, and tracking which is really more important to me than just glass.I have been reading a ton of mixed reviews on which has better glass. SWFA really seems to deliver on all fronts...
Most reviews I read the SWFA seems to edge out beyond the vortex pst. I for the money, I don't think I made a bad decision, and im pretty confident im getting more scope than the PST line. Look at the Optics Thoughts reviews... they compare it to the Vortex Razor not the PST. Along with all the other high end brands.ExtremeXComment

Hold crap, thanks for the heads up... I didnt know SWFA sold the ADDMOUNT... You just saved me a few bucks.
The 1-6x is a pre-order. Do you have an AR? Im very excited about both scopes.
Yes it hurts, but its going to hurt more if that coupon expires and you decided you really did want both.ExtremeXComment
