I never had an issue with Opticsplanet, they've been good. Except now they charge sales tax which doesn't help the price.

Also, use gun.deals to see some smaller vendors out there. Many smaller shops are cheaper and don't charge CA sales tax since they don't deal enough business with CA. I just picked up a Sig Romeo Red Dot cheaper than most dealers and shipped fast from a small dealer out of state.

Yuck! People I really respect are taking different positions on this. I went to Fowlers (yeah, I know, a bit on the pricey side), but they wanted $300 more. They're real close though. This COVID thing really sxxks. I'll see if I can get a better number from Turner's or Ammo Bros. I'd be willing to pay maybe $1700 for a cash and carry deal for a new out-of-the-box scope.

Guess I've been lucky, but I have never had a problem with Optics Planet. Anyone that offers free shipping will get my business.

Only small nit-pick I can think off is that larger orders with multiple items will occasionally ship separately, due to their business model.

The current state of affairs have me considering the unthinkable -- mail ordering a rifle scope. What experience have you had with Optics Planet?

I have had some minor issues but overall they aren't that bad.

I use EuroOptic when I look at optics or the military exchanges.

A mail order company with many problems. Yeah go ahead and order - wait way tooooooo long for shipping. Then again wait way tooooooo long for a refund when they couldn't fill your order.

After waiting 27 days for my present order - with NO shipping date in sight... and after getting the SAME things I'd ordered from them, 2 weeks ago from Midwest Industries... I cancelled my order with them.

I've ordered from them twice now. I waited a week, ordered from somewhere else - GOT my order from elsewhere - waited another week... and ended up cancelling.

I was willing to give them a REASONABLE shot, and even use or re-sell whatever they sent, out of fairness to them... but waiting 4 weeks, without so much as an IDEA when - or if - they'll be shipping... I simply can't deal with such ineptitude. Strike 3 - I'm NOT ordering from them again.

Spent thousands of dollars on Opticsplanet until I dealt with a issue that was their fault on their end and spoke to customer service whom didn’t care, I heard about their bad customer service for years thinking it was just flukes until I had to deal with them, now I never spend anything with them. Started shopping with Eurooptics as mentioned above, first purchase last year went no problem ($900 Viper PST) but no experience with their customer service but have heard nothing but good.
