I think some of you might not get it.....it is adult signature required. I am having c&r guns shipped to my house. I can't leave a note with my signature on it (not allowed) and when I log into my ups "my choice" acct it wont let me re route the package. Even a phone call to cust service gets me nothing.
The way Classic marks the shipment UPS my choice will NOT let you change delivery address because of the nature of the shipment FYI.

At home I have pretty decent luck with all of them. My regular mailman is wonderful... and the current batch of UPS/Fedex/OnTrac drivers is pretty good.

Having said that I've had BAD drivers from UPS/FEDEX in the past. The worst was a UPS driver who wasn't our regular route driver.

I heard the truck roll up, muttering in the driveway and opened the door just as it landed on the porch from being thrown from about 6 feet away. I immediately called out to the driver to stop and they just kept on walking back to the truck. Ran inside and grabbed the phone called the 800 number... asked to be transferred to the account rep for the business I worked for.. and started filling him in on what happened including truck #/license plate...

About 20-25 min later another brown truck rolls up with our regular route driver who apologizes for not delivering our package himself right out of the gate. He then went on to explain that his route had been split on to 2 trucks due to overflow. We chatted a bit, he thoroughly documented the condition my package was in, the distance from where it was thrown, etc like he was CSI. Then he got into the "package autopsy." Took tons of photos of the damage.. explained that the claim would sail through no problem, and the overflow driver would be berated by him personally.

So I drag the box inside and do some assembly (it was a toddler bed or a changing table.... some baby furniture) and there's a few broken bits, but it would still be functional if assembled. I go out for a smoke and to mutter to myself, and find the overflow driver standing in my driveway with replacement wooden dowel in hand apologizing profusely.

It was a week or 2 before I saw our regular driver again, but when dropping something off at a neighbor he ran up to check up on me and how the furniture turned out, and to see if my claim had been processed yet. In the conversation I mentioned that the overflow driver came back that day with some dowel and he started laughing hysterically. Apparently he'd chewed them out good and in the process suggested they go to the hardware store and buy me replacement parts facetiously stating that's what he'd have done if he broke someone's baby furniture.

I miss that guy... new one is good at his job, but I don't think he's got the chutzpah the last one had

UPS is great if you never leave your house. If you have any sort of life away from home you will miss your package guaranteed. And going to pick it up is terrible because they don't always send it to the closest shipping hub.

I've been lucky with UPS and FedEx. I know the drivers and see or talk with them almost daily so I get very good service at my office. FedEx Ground is a bit of a crap shoot though. The drivers for their ground service aren't as friendly or as sharp as the regular FedEx drivers are. If at all possible I choose UPS for ground delivery if I have a choice.

The USPS delivery person changes all the time, but they have been pretty good about delivering packages too. I felt bad for the mailman on a couple of occasions where I ordered a bunch of bullets and those "if it fits it ships" boxes get so heavy when they are packed with 1,000 or 2,000 .308 bullets.

Put a potted plant on the porch and they'll drop the package every time. If they can't make it hidden when standing at the street they won't leave it. If your package got stolen you'd probably blame them too.

Well, if finally started moving again, after sitting in Phoenix for 2 days.

My initial panic attack was because they emailed me the wrong tracking number. Once I got the correct tracking number off the hard copy of the receipt, it relieved the fear someone stole the rifle.

Well there are a few thousand other people that aren't happy with UPS today

I don't like how ups doesn't let you reroute to a store unless you have one failed attempt. That being said, the ups driver is at my house often enough that he has my cell number and he gives me a call if I'm not home and asks if I will be around so he can come back at a later time. FedEx driver doesn't do that.
