    Does anyone else hate UPS?

I have been buying a bunch of C&Rs lately, trying to avoid the registration deadline looming.

I ordered two SKSs from Classic last week - they were shipped UPS adult signature required.

I have tried several times to have the packages rerouted to a nearby UPS store (I won't be home to receive the packages). The cust service folks at UPS tell me that I have to miss the first attempted delivery before I can do this and that it will cost me $5 per package.

I got a 1917 from Dupage recently....they shipped FedEx. Not only was the shipping much faster but it is VERY easy and free to have your package sent to a FedEx store (like, two clicks of the mouse). Much much more convenient for me.

Anybody else hate UPS? I think I like the USPS more than I like UPS.....

Yes, I hate UPS too. I won't get into that right now.

You can sign up for "MY UPS" on their website. from there you can make changes to the delivery.

And, yes it will be $5 if you send it to a "store" or to a different address.

If you have it "held for pick up" it's free. They will only hold it for 5 days though.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I agree. I have everything held at the Fed ex store and pick it up at my convenience. With UPS all I get is yellow stickers on my door and random delivery times.

You have to show your ID to get your package......which has your address on it......so yeah, don't see how it would be illegal.

At my old place a package was marked "left on porch" yet I never found it. Notified the seller and they reshipped. And they filed a claim. For the next six years at that address NO package could be left no matter what the signature status was. Everything had to be signed for. UPS drivers confirmed we were "blacklisted".

We moved a mile away and everything is much, much better. The UPS driver we have now will leave packages behind the fence where they are protected by dogs or will seek out a neighbor I selected if a package has to be signed for.

USPS would not leave any package that wouldn't fit in the mailbox because we have dogs. Even though the dogs were fenced on a different part of the property. The mail carrier didn't even bring the packages with her on the route, only the pick up slips. I could be standing at the box when she pulled up and get a pick up slip. Which sucked to get on a Friday since our local PO is closed on Saturdays.

We move a mile away, have the same mail carrier, dogs have free run of this smaller property (whole property is fenced) yet she goes out of her way to leave packages. She drops them behind the fence where UPS leaves them. Strange, but I'm not complaining.

Fed Ex is the worst here because they use so many different contract drivers. We usually get our packages, but have had problems.

I recently sent the slide from my Kimber back to the factory for some work done. I sent it USPS priority insured. It got to NY in less than 72 hrs. When Kimber sent it back they sent it UPS ground which took 7 business days (ugh).

I prefer FEDEX, but you can't control who the seller uses sometimes. It is a lot nicer knowing that FedEx is holding your package and can pick it up after work.

Honestly I don't. I have great drivers for UPS, FedEx and USPS.

I have had the exact opposite experience as some of you. I have "My UPS" and it is always a breeze to re-schedule and re-route my packages to whenever or wherever I want them to go. I am on a first name basis with my UPS driver, he is a totally cool guy, I love UPS.

Every time I have had a powder or ammo shipment via FedEx, trying to re-route to the local depot or change times is a nightmare. Most of the time the shipper checks some box that won't let it be re-routed to the FedEx store, I miss them multiple times and it turns into a fiasco. The $40.00 per year for "My UPS" is the best money I spent this year. If I am out of town, I just change the delivery date to when I will be back, or I just have it sent to my local UPS store, it has reduced my stress level considerably. My time is valuable, $40.00 is nothing.

I have to agree with Capaybara. but its the people who make a difference. My UPS driver knows me and my house and will come at the end of his shift when he knows I will be home. Great guy focused on customer service. Fed ex always seems to be a hassle. If I change delivery ten miles away its like they are mad and take two days to get that package to their store. Sometimes it takes two more days for them to call when it arrives.

UPS charge is because a lot of UPS Stores are franchised, pretty much a private business that rents UPS name.

My house was blacklisted for 5 years for a package left on porch that vanished. finally started delivering again.

Cant stand that they sometimes drop off at 8pm and don't knock or call or anything.

Like Justin, I have a great UPS delivery driver.
I've been in the delivery business for the last 20yrs, here's a tip.
A simple phone call to a drivers supervisor.
A complaint call is going to have the driver "on the carpet", getting a large chunk of his azz chewed off. "IF" he figures out "who" made the call, he can and will use the rules, to make your deliveries just as unpleasant.
A complement call, several over a couple of weeks time, and you'll get treated like you are his only customer in a 50 mile radius. While telling his boss what a great job he does, be sure he makes note of your name and address. All calls about a driver are logged by his supervisor in the drivers file. When his yearly performance review comes up, this has a big effect on his raise. These kind of calls are like gold to a good driver, and they don't forget who made them.

I dont have issues with any of my carriers, with one exception.

ONTRAC. I HATE ontrac, i dont know why amazon used to use them. They are horrible, drivers that dont speak english, packages show up beat to ****, cars are old busted up minivans with an "ontrac" magnet on the side.

Im glad amazon has been shipping UPS/fedex/GSO now.
