Pulled the trigger on another one, this time a Springfield service grade. I contacted CMP's customer service and they confirmed that they are expediting California orders. Two M1s, one in .308 and one in .30-06, should be enough to hold me over.

I'm about to order a SA Garand and have two questions.

1. Military ID seems to satisfy all of the document requirements. Can someone confirm that?
2. Is there any law in CA that I should be concerned about for these rifles?

The CMP has a few hoops that you need to look into, The ID may satisfy some things, but it is by no means a panacea.

As for Kaliban Laws (Edicts?) the one to watch is the one that kicks in the First of the Year, requiring that you go through an FFL and pay Kaliban "use-tax" extortion (tithe?).

Answered own notary question.

I posed the same question to them via email and they said the front image of your ID card satisfied all criteria. I had already made a copy of my CPRA card so sent it in anyway, but not necessary. My order is being processed for shipment so it must have worked.

Edit - you are correct though, you still need the notarized page.
