It has arrived...A near correct HRA serv grade.Only the bolt(-19sa),windage knob(IHC) and the elevation knob are'nt HRA.Metal has some wear in the usual places,the finish is nice and even throughout.The stock appears to be original to the rifle,a nice piece of old black walnut with a few storage dings.
The barrel is original to the receiver dated 3/55 with muzzle and throat wear gauged at 2.
Total time to delivery from date of mailing paperwork was 7 weeks.

I submitted an order for 2 cases of HXP ammo. Previously I had ordered a CMP case for my M1A. The case took 3 months to process and arrive, but that was back in April of this year. That was the time they were buried in rifle orders.

I could have purchased a case locally but, I ordered from CMP more for support of the great program and service they provide.

It's amazing, VERY nice USGI wood, SA Barrel and receiver, 1/1+ readings. IHC gas port plug. All I can say since I received it as I was running out the door already late for work. Born AUG 1944. Will get some pictures once I get through the cosomo and clean it up. I think it might be nicer than my service grade special.

I'm about to order a SA Garand and have two questions.

1. Military ID seems to satisfy all of the document requirements. Can someone confirm that?
2. Is there any law in CA that I should be concerned about for these rifles?

Just don't send them a copy of your CDL. CMP does not accept it as a valid form of identification.

Anyone have any info on lead time for ammo orders?
