thats because neither side wanted to upset the electorate before the election.

Hmm...what is the laundry list of the antis? As far as C&R collectors (rifles, specifically), we are probably about #3, I would say right before they take away hunting shotguns and rifles.

                1. ARs and AKs are first
                2. Handguns are second
                3. C&Rs (because they are deadly implements of war designed for only one thing, killing people)
                4. "Hunting" rifles and shotguns (Any rifle with a scope is a sniper rifle, shotguns are really evil, even the cops only use them against bad guys when they are serious, after the handguns).
                5. Any misc. Ruger 10/22s or other .22 rifles
                6. Airguns, Airsoft, Paintball guns
                7. Knives and edged weapons
                8. Independent thought.

                    Guys,

Quit acting like Stalin just shot Santa Claus! The same voters who just put Obama in for another term also elected the FULL House of Representatives with a Republican majority. Sounds crazy to us Constitutionalists, I know, but it is what it is.

House members want to get re-elected in two years. Therefore, the majority WILL NOT pass any significant anti-gun legislation. Plus, and I know this is hard for gun-owning Californians to believe, but the Democrats from the "flyover states" have many pro-gun members among their ranks. Why? Because the Democrats from the heartland states are not the same as the Democrats from the eastern seaboard and California. Will the UN try their treaty again (the old one died, remember)? Maybe. But I wouldn't expect much.

All of you who are bewailing liberalism as if it's just overtaken us need to rethink that. It's been the opposing force in politics for 100 years. Woodrow Wilson, FDR? READ SOME HISTORY! If you actually want to do something about our society becoming too liberal, then fight to break the monopoly the left-wing teachers' unions have over our children's minds. If you teach your own children what our founding principles are (because they sure as hell won't learn them in our public schools) and to love the Constitution, then they will probably grow up to be pro-gun voters.

Half the households in the country own guns. The political establishment is not going to be able to demonize them just like that. Here's another shocker for you, but most people do not consider gun control a front-burner issue.

Be vigilant, but the sky is NOT falling.

Bambi has been pro-gun grabbing his entire short-lived political life. The Brady Campaign is a huge Democrat contributor. And the reason nothing was ever said in his first term, is because he was up for reelection. Now that he's a lame duck president, guns are on the table. Wake. Up.
I think you need to pay more attention to politics lately.

What will happen to us gun owners? Well for starters, panic will make ammo hard to get. Remember 4 years ago? Good luck finding 22lr, 45acp, and 223. If you reload, good luck finding primers and popular powders. Come Aprilish itll start showiung up online and on shelves again.
As for firearms? SKS's (all semi autos really) will skyrocket. ARs will be amazingly overpriced and impossible to get. Good luck finding any sort of Glock or XD type pistol especially in 45acp. Milsurp prices will climb, some more than others.
This will last until April/May time frame, just like 4 years ago, then all will be OK.
Now Im not totally up on my politics BUT I believe the AWB has been put up every year since 2004 and has not been approved so for Obama to put it in again seems like the "thing" to do. As far as I see it, it wont affect us here. We already have an AWB so the new Federal AWB will ban guns you already cant have. Maybe Im not seeing this right but thats how I see it. All those people who said "screw you California" well might just get to see what we go through. Alittle poetic justice BUT not the way I would like to see it.
Not too sure on this UN treaty yet. Still reading and trying to figure out what it all means.

There are all kinds of possibilities.

One thing we can be certain of, and that's that every one of us milsurp guys and gals will buy more milsurps.

Certainly CA has strict gun laws, so hand wringing is unnecessary. Why? We have nearly the strictest laws in the nation. It is highly unlikely that our laws will get more strict. This is why I feel Californians will see no change at Fed level.

I know many gun folks voted on the right. And some of us believed the lies that came from Fox News [sic] and were sorely disappointed.

Those of us who knew Fox grossly misinformed the electorate about Obama's gun stances were not surprised at the election results. The facts show the laws the O signed actually widened gun rights.

So, there ya have it: no Federal law will STILL get out of the R controlled House to get to O's desk. That will not change.

Quitchyer whinin' and go out and buy something to fill a hole in your collection. Or schedule a range trip and ENJOY OUR HOBBY.

No one, no law is stopping you.

So even though Obama supports the AWB you pro 2a guys are counting it won't pass. I won't lie, I dictate my votes solely on the politicians gun stance. For starters black guns pay my bills, second I feel people who enjoy the freedoms of gun ownership understand the idea of freedoms in all aspects of life. Meaning gun owners generally share the same mind set as I do about aspects of GOV't.

2 days before the election I thought about the two candidates and remembered when I was a kid and how my parents would gather us children up to hear the president speak. Back then they were special people. Wow, things have changed. Obama and Romney are the best this country has? Now back to the panic! We have 3 packs of lowers for $225 pm me

It's hard to say what is going to happen but Obama has made statements in the past about more gun control and has banned the import of C&R surplus M1s. Add to that his proven willingness to bypass Congress by executive order and the fact that he is not concerned about running for office again to me says additional gun controls are a distinct possibility.
