I mailed my application on June 20th, my card was charged on June 26th. I called the ATF today and they gave me my 8 digital number. She said it was entered on June 27th and that it normally takes 60-90 days after it was entered.
Hope I'm one of the lucky ones who gets it earlier.

They sure do seem bothered when you call.

The lady I spoke to was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. She even asked how the weather was in California and if I was near the beach.

I actually tried to call yesterday and got a recording saying "Due to an emergency in our office, we are closed. Please try back later". Wonder what the emergency was.

Got a response today via e-mail. The lady told me everything looked to be filled out correctly and she would run my background check, and hopefully I will have it in the next 2 weeks...

Honestly, I think they're just pissed off about their Fuhrer being held in contempt.

Well, judging from the responses here the time frame to receive the license is all over the place.

I sent mine in on 07/02. I will update when I receive it. The ability to buy classic firearms directly over the internet may yet be my ruin, but it wil be a great ride.

The initial e-mail I sent was to their ATF National Licensing Center. The rep informed me of who actually was responsible for my paperwork and her name/phone number. I asked for her e-mail as well in another response.

It's a good way to track down who has your paperwork and inquire as to its status and any comments or questions or concerns you might have should also be answered via that person.

Here is to hoping I'll have my C&R in hand within the next 2 weeks. I'll be working to get my COE paperwork out of the way as well this month despite my opposition to the stupid fees.

My FFL03 was mailed out July 02, and my credit card has already been charged the $30 fee. If you take into account the mid week holiday, that is pretty darned fast.

Yes, they are very quick with taking your money but sending your license out, not so much

I am sure this is the case, but just seeing any activity on the other end gives me a glimmer of hope that the wheels are turning on the process.

Honestly, in this case, hope is overrated. Even when you contact them, they will drag out the process as long as they possibly and legally can.

The ATF does not want private citizens to own firearms. This we know. Why would they be a cheerful rush to issue any FFL license? Even a C&R.

I'm sure my COE will take just as long once I get that process going soon.

                                Mailed 6-14
                                Charged 6-18
                                Entered 6-20
Called 7-10, turns out they entered my ssn wrong, but the lady can't change it. Great. Leave message with person who can change it, waiting for callback. Hope it's soon...

edit:7-12 No callback yet, left another message... Yay got the callback! Sending app back to me to change, then I send it back again. At least the ball is rolling again...
