Also, measure the barrel again. Use a cleaning rod, or anything else that will fit down the barrel until it stops on the bolt face. Make a mark on the rod at the muzzle, and measure from there.

Left out the most important part....S/N is 3090453. And after measuring barrel with cleaning rod, it's actually 16 1/2".

Tanman, that one was made in 1905 as well. 1905 serials started at 269817 and ended at 310112.

Oh wow ok. Thank you very much. The first one i purchased is a take down that came with an extra front assembly that has a choke installed. The second one I just purchased was found barried in tombstone az. Going to take a lot of work to restore it but it will be fun. Thanks again.

I have a Model 12 shotgun serial no. 53196. According to the Winchester site, it's a 1913 manufacture. Is this correct?
