Even my scoped 20" AR weighs only. 10 - 11 lbs. My midlengths with an aimpoint weighs 8 lbs. So I dont know where you guys are seeing these 20lb ARs.

20lbs is an exaggeration, But having a +12 pound m4 profile rifle, which there are a lot of, is excessive. I have an EOtech, MBUS and pistol flashligh on mine and it's a little over 6 poinds. One of my persicion uppers weights 9pounds alone (24inch bull barrel with rifle lenght quad rail). And im pretty sure if I put all of my tacticool gear on it I could get my rifle to 17pounds, I think I would need the flare launcher if I wanted to hit 20lbs.
But I being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softely, because you tread on my dreams.

Looks like a side-charger of some kind - check out the lack of a charging handle at the rear. Possibly VM Hytech (hence the VM logo) or maybe an ASA (American Spirit Arms) - did ASA buy VM? Huh, dunno...

              picture thread!

When I get the item, I will leave you iTrader feedback, assuming you've already done your part. See how that works?

That upper is made by American Spirit Arms (ASA). It is a billet, side charging, non-reciprating upper. The plug where a standard charging handle would go can swivel in and out. It fuctions as a plug and tightens the fit between the upper and lower. I like a whole lot more than the standard uppers.

A bit older of a pic:
