20lbs is an exaggeration, But having a +12 pound m4 profile rifle, which there are a lot of, is excessive. I have an EOtech, MBUS and pistol flashligh on mine and it's a little over 6 poinds. One of my persicion uppers weights 9pounds alone (24inch bull barrel with rifle lenght quad rail). And im pretty sure if I put all of my tacticool gear on it I could get my rifle to 17pounds, I think I would need the flare launcher if I wanted to hit 20lbs.

First off rifle setup is ALL preference. In my humble opinion I will take a few more pounds any day for added capability. BTW my LWRC with white light, aimpoint, AN/PEQ15, Troy BUIS is barely 9 pounds, a pig maybe. But worth every pound as my night fighting capability's are immense.
