Thanks a lot. And yep, living in SF. Flare/smoke launcher isn't classified as a destructive device unless you plan to shoot obviously ridiculous rounds through it (16 shot 22 lr beehive round available, talk about a shotgun on crack)

In that case you'd have to get a # engraved and get it registered but as it stands now it's practically nothing, they don't even have to ship it to an FFL. Even got some 37mm flares and smoke delivered.

Tacticool or whatever you want to call my rifle I just posted a picture of... I think it's supremely functional for what I WANT TO DO WITH IT. Period.

KISS seems a little dry to me, very basic. I like it and all, but if I'm chasing "functionality" then hell call me "tacticool". I'll take it as a compliment.

I'm getting tired of hearing "tacticool" be thrown around. Granted there are a few rifles here that look like the owner really doesn't know much about what hes doing and just threw a bunch of **** on his rails, but the majority of whats here is pretty well put together and placed. Just because a weapon has certain elements on it, does not make it "tacticool." It is the user and how he includes the elements which is the deciding factor. (tacticool is some airsucker who turns 18 buys an AR and slaps everything he can on it including an airsoft PEQ15...) Even then who the **** are we to tell someone that they are tacticool? I will be the first too say I used to do the very same thing calling certain members stupid for weapon configuration. Since then I have learned there is no point and that they are just gun enthusiasts helping out our second amendment rights, the more the merrier. My weapon is extremely capable and efficient, night or day, and it really doesn't weigh much. Even if it was heavy, then you the shooter, should PT and get your *** in shape to be as capable as the weapon. The user should not hold the weapon system back from being more capable.

The more crap you add to your rifle the more you eventually want a basic service rifle (KISS or non-KISS)...especially after a 4 day course. Man they can get heavy!

Just want to make a point. I went through a Magpul HVWM 3 day course a few months ago, and had no trouble what so ever with the weight of my weapon. I was also wearing full armor (soft/ &hard, as well as a Kevlar helmet) to boot. As a matter of fact, a LEO I met there and I managed to get the fastest time in the last timed exercise we did in the class... (won a free MD handgun DVD) On a side note, I am not some big ripped dude, as you can see in my picture I am pretty skinny.

For the record, I am all in favor of modern upgrades to rifles. Just look at my screen name / company name, it says it all. There is a time and place for tricked out rifles, for KISS rifles and for hybrids. I say own one of each, at least!
