I don't know everyone thinks that they will get their guns taken when they register them. IF and WHEN it happens it won't be a mass swoop all in one night, and if it gets that bad that they will take them yu will know before it happens. I see a mass revolt or something making them take them.

Am I the only one that put the kibosh on long gun purchases?

I didn't really need anything, but thought it would be nice to make a statement so I bought a Browning M2HB. I already had a bunch of linked ammo that I got at the old Pomona gun show but never got around to using, so it only made sense to buy something that could accommodate the linked ammo.

My safes are full, so before I buy any more long guns, my next purchase will be a new safe. Besides, I have every long gun I ever wanted, so I am picky these days. My last purchase was a S&W Model 28 4" revolver (5 screw model) and am currently on the prowl for a older model 66 2 1/2 or 4" barrel. Think I am going back to collecting handgunsComment

I have too many long guns and wasn't planning on buying anymore in the foreseeable future. Then, I walked into Turner's in Oxnard looking for an out of print book and hoping they would have it. They didn't. But, they did have a nice little 11-48 with a vented rib in 28g. I couldn't let it sit on the shelf at the price they had on it. So..........I now own a registered 28g shotgun. I'm so glad the state has decided that these evil +50 year old 28g shotguns need to be registered. I highly doubt that anyone has ever used a 28g in a crime but, yea, the state now knows I have it.
^THIS^
their whole purpose behind the registration was to get law abiding gun owners to STOP buying, out of fear of this confiscation...if they can just get you to stop buying, then, you've done the job for them, because in all reality, I don't believe they'll ever be able to successfully confiscate everyone's firearms like, for example, what they did during Katrina
folks are smarter than that now, they won't so easily hand them over, especially if they know it's a mass confiscation...that's when the fighting will begin...they know this, they dare not risk the fallout from trying...it's much easier for them to just try and make you uncomfortable buying in the first place...that's the real agenda on winning for them, let you do the job for them
I personally hope long gun sales hit a new record every yearsigpicComment

my attitude is a bit different than most of the forum members...basically I'm not hiding SH**...in fact, i WANT them to know im still buying whatever the hell i feel like buying...I don't give a rats a** about them in the first place...maybe they NEED to look at some database and discover that XX MILLION people own long guns...maybe they NEED something like that to hit them in the face, help them realize the fact that WE AIN'T GOING NO WHERE, and, neither are our gunsAnchors Aweigh

'Atta boy! Why do so many people here insist on hiding like WE are doing something shameful or something wrong? Buy guns! Shoot guns! Clean your guns in your own damn backyard if that's where you feel like it. Just be safe, be responsible, and don't be ashamed about it. I am a free American, and I intend to keep acting like one.
I bought a bunch of stuff last year thinking that would be it but the more you think about it the more you realize they would know we purchased something anyways and like others mention if you purchased a pistol then you already have something registered. If you follow the law and responsible who cares what you buy legally.Comment

Yes, I've stopped buying long arms, but not because of the law. Stopped buying because I've got all the rifles I want and need.
If you don't think this government hasn't been using the DROS system as back door registration since its inception or at minimum for the last 20 years, then well... I guess you're just a hopeless optimist.Comment

Cool, that's just what the antis WANT you to do. Now, be a good sheeple and let them keep herding you around while you try to hide.
AMEN Teddy! While I completely disagree with the whole registration thing and have plenty of legal and unregistered firearms (including a couple dozen undocumented homebuilds), I hope the whole thing backfires on them and they realize just how many millions of California's voters own firearms. It might make some of the dumber politicians take notice. OK, not the real dumb ones like Yee and Delong. They are too stupid to put two and two together. But, the ones who are a little brighter and want to be re elected. We really need to get gun owners like Stroid out of hiding and proudly stand up to be counted.

You CAN'T let them scare you away from doing what you want because of regulations, they are trying to scare you away from buying long guns - don't cave in. If you need or want a long gun buy it.Comment
