I regret passing on a Bushmaster ORC in .308

It was only $1350 before tax and DROS

It had just come into the shop and I was the first to have it in my hands.

An entry level AR platform is not adequate for my high speed tactical needs, i.e.

      Desert bump firing
      Bowling pin blasto
      Playing dress-up with Magpul everything
Facebook photo shoots where I show my war face in my gun gallery

You won't catch me in BRM-istan or Burro Canyistan with anything but premium, boutique brand AR builds. Stuff like the M&P Sport is a bit too pedestrian for myself and others of the elite class of shooters.

No regrets about passing up cheap ARs. Crap is crap, no matter how much you pay for it.

The guys who paid $5000 for an AR during the panic are the ones who should have some regret.

Prices and availability are improving as we speak, but ammo is still crazy high.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

I almost bought an M&P Sport for $699 before the panic but decided to hold off. I bought a numbers matching Factory 26 SKS in really good condition the day before Sandy Hook happened, for $279...I decided during the panic to build my AR...I built on a billet aluminum stripped lower receiver with a CMMG LPK, 2 Magpul 10-30 magazines, Hogue grip, Tapco T6 Mil Spec buffer tube assembly, Magpul CTR butt stock, Bushmaster XM15 A3 upper assembly, UTG drop in aluminum quad rail and a G.P.S. grip pod for right around $1,550...That's not a terrible price considering I did this all during the height of the panic...

The only regret I have was not picking up a Saiga 12 gauge when I had the opportunity. I was waiting till after Christmas (when my bonus kicked in) to go and pick one up, and then....well Sandy Hook took place, and those dreams went right out the window.

You can still get M&P15 from Turners for $899 when they are in stock. They had them for that price in Fred Hall Show and I still see them at that price at times without a scope. Its not that much from the pre-panic prices. If are forced to buy the scope, just sell the scope and you will still end up with approximately the same price afterwards.

No, because I know that ultimately you get what you pay for. Still piecing together my rifle but it will be a beauty when I'm finished.

I think I posted this info before (sorry), but ..

                              I had a chance to buy a M&P Sport pre-panic for about $580 (I passed)
I was finally able to get one post-panic for $709
During the 10 day wait I watched them go from $709 - $799 and they were still selling out.

The funny thing is that it turned out to be a GREAT rifle. I ran it hard and dirty with no malfunctions during a desert shoot with powdery sand blowing around.

I would post some pics of the above shoot, but the tactics and marksmanship are simply too much awesomeness for most people to be able to comprehend..
