I just use an AK-74 style brake. Works great on AK-74s, awesome on AR-15s too, cheap for both!

OP, sorry for posting in your thread. I'm also looking for muzzle brakes for my 300 blackout build. Looking at the Troy Claymore, any opinions on those?

I have the Claymore on one of my builds (not a 300 though) decent enough but I've never had an issue with the recoil from the 5.56 round to justify spending $100 + on a muzzle device. Not knocking those that do it, just sayin.
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it.

check out the smith enterprise good iron brake. works great, plus it's relatively easy on the wallet.

My BCM MOD 1 Gunfighter just landed today. I was going to go with a Smith Vortex but was immediately intrigued when I saw Rainer Arm's video comparing it to the Battle Comp. Now just need to get to the range to try it out.

That BCM brake looks like it performs well. It certainly merits a closer look.

Just wanted some feedback on which ones you have used and what you would suggest before I shell out some dough for what is hopefully the last part to complete my rig.

Here are the ones I'm looking at:

                        PWS FSC556
                        Rainier Arms XTC
BCM's new gunfighter comps (not too much data on these since they are new)
                        Surefire MB556K

                        I appreciate the feedback guys.

I've used the FSC556 and at 100 yds standing my Red Dot doesn't move out of the steel targets. The flash suppression is also pretty good, almost comparable to the A2. However it is pretty loud, noticeable compared to the A2.

Smaller flash signature. Like I said I cant really pass judgement until I can compare it to the battlecomp on my other AR.

+1 on the Battlecomp 1.0. I've got one on my 80% build, and I love it!

I have experience with the pws, the battle comp, surefire, and the knights 3T. To me they all do a great job of keeping the muzzle down and driving what little recoil there is straight back. To me the pws is obnoxious. Not just extra loud, but theres also a noticeable pressure wave.
I can't tell any difference between the battlecomp and KAC. I guess I like the KAC more because its kind of a Gucci part. Any brakes I buy from now on will be either Surefire or battlecomp.
                                Have fun, they're all good.
