proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium made by FN that is referred to as "Machine Gun Steel" by virtue of its use in FN's M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a carbine-length gas system]

I have a CHF upper that I bought 3 years ago. Not a single malfunction and puts the bullets where I point it. I have Noveske and the PSA might be a little less accurate. But $399 vs $1199 for a complete upper is a no brainer. I like them both and I believe the PSA does it's job almost as well as Noveske. My PSA slapped on top of an Anderson lower isn't pretty to look at, but it is reliable.

Who makes the freedom nitrite barrels? Aero Precision or in-house?

Ya is the freedom line of uppers the cheapest made? And premium is the way to go? I haven't checked out PSA in a few years. I have one of their better uppers with the FN barrel I got a few years ago. That upper runs damn good. Wouldn't mind another.

In order from lowest to highest quality in regards to what they offer, it would probably be:

                  PTAC > Freedom > FN

Seems like a solid selection of products to fit various budgets. Don't know what the mall ninjas are complaining about. If you only like Noveskes and Barretts, then keep buying them. Nobody is forcing you to buy PSA products. If the Freedom line AR was able to pass Rob Ski's 5000 round torture, I can only imagine what the FN CHF is capable of.

Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.

While i personally wouldnt buy a PSA, i think the chances are higher that one would get an unreliable rifle from PSA than say KAC or LMT, though the price difference is stout. Im absolutely sure there are alot of flawless PSA guns out there. That being said the one person i actually know who has a PSA had nothing but issues out of the gate. When you spend more on a gun like even a BCM you are also buying peace of mind that the thing is going to run like a cat on fire, hence why threads like this exist and its always usually about PSA or other manufacturers within that price bracket and not BCM or LMT.

I got a used 20" inch PSA A4 rifle in a trade a couple years ago and its been 100% reliable from the start..no problems..BUT..as an FFL..Ive had a crap ton of issues with PSA here and there..mostly their shipping times and the whole FFL waiver BS I had to deal with to order lowers for customers..I think they grew too fast..not enough people..etc..

My PSA had an issue right from the start that even the great minds of calguns couldn't solve.
Thankfully PSA has decent customer service.
Was the bolt carrier group all along!
                          Has run flawless since.

How can you be absolutely sure there are a lot of flawless ones if the only one you saw sucked?

Its nice to know all this info, and makes a lot of sense as to why my $600 PSA AR hasnt had 1 issue in the last 6 years since I built it.
