I have been reading a lot.

I am a newbie. I am starting to understand both sides of argument, "Newbie" & "'Season Forum Members".

I think it is best anwser this question to approach it from newbie stand point. Too much focus is on the removed magazine. We need to address the Rifle.

    Newbie Reasoning:

Using the Only the Bullet Button allows the removal of a magazine with an aid of tool. The moment the magazine is remove, the Rifle in your hands with evil features (flash hider, pistol grip, retractable stock, etc...) is an AW?

Newbie Explaination: (based on calgun member understanding of the law to the letter)

    No!

If you read into the letter of the law, then you will understand, quoted by hoffmang here:

    "Penal Code 12276.1.
    (a) (1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:"

By using Only the Bullet Button render the magazine inserted in your rifle "NOT Detachable without an Aid of a Tool". Hence you Do Not have a Rifle w/ Detachable Magazine feature in your hands.

You have CA Legal Rifle that can Accept a Legal 10rd Magazine. Any CA Legal 10 rd Capacity magazine inserted into your pinned mag rifle becomes the a "Attachable Magazine" termed by Calgun members.

Go with no evil features (pistol grip, flashider, retractable stock, etc.) if you are not comfortable with this logic. Mentioned time and time again.

BEWARE!!!!!! THIS IS ONLY HALF TRUE!!!!!!

Only Bullet-Button fits your above logic.

Not Prince50, not set-screw-mag-lock, not sport-conversion, not SAS-original-mag-lock etc!!! Basically, if you use the tool to remove your magazine includes removing of the locking mechanism, you have created a AW - since the moment your locking mechanism is removed(the mag-catch is now loose), someone can hold a loaded magazine in the mag-well, shoot, and then drop the magazine by just not holding it in place(hence no need to use THE tool).

Only Bullet-Button-like design will have the "locking mechanism" still in place even after the magazine is removed. Therefore, when you insert a magazine, it is instantly become a "non-detachable magazine".

BTW, there is NO legal definition of "Attachable Magazine".

          Revised Post

          Thanks for the correction.

I do not own a Prince50, so I assumed it was a similar version of Bullet Button. But with some more reading and research Prince50 Bullet Lock is definately not an candidate for drop magazine load.
