Had zero problems with my LMT 308, had a hiccup with a PWS upper 7.62 x 39, sent it in and they made it right their customer service was top notch. No experience with pws

I would go LMT due to the fact that you can easily change the barrel and has the superb MARS lower receiver. LMT makes great stuff and you won't be disappointed. However, if you want a piston gas system, then go PWS.

The conversions replace the entire bcg afaik.

That seems to be a very tiny factor, considering how crappy AR's shoot 22 ammo.

Always found the p415 to be sexy but went the budget route with a wolf t91 upper

Swap out the cf bcg and put the rf kit in and that's it. Same as di system.

*I turn off the gas regulator to reduce 22 crap from collecting in the gas block.

A took a closer look at the LMT R20 today. Outstanding rifle - slick, nimble and high quality. I already had a very high expectations and I was almost certain that I will buy it. I did not because of the following reasons. The biggest issue for me was the handguard is too short for me. When I shoulder the rifle my hand that grabs the handguard automatically grabs the gas block. For a few minutes I was trying to convince myself that this is not a big problem and I can alter my posture. Although not without burning my hand a few times. I was thinking how I can put M-LOK picatinny rail that sticks out and cover the gas block from bellow. I even considered getting the SHOVELNOSE upper. But I don't think this will work due to the bayonet lug that sticks out. On top of that the trigger seemed too heavy and not as crisp. I am probably spoiled by Geissele triggers that I have on everything that accepts them. The trigger was heavier than the CZ Bren 2 trigger. And finally, as far as I can tell the rifle does not come with the LMT enhanced bolt which was odd for this price bracket. But still a very cool rifle. I did not want to give it back.

I am a little bummed. I was almost certain that today I will deliver you the good news that I got the rifle. But I am coming empty-handed. I think I will get the PWS MK114 MOD 2-M upper - it has long handguard reaching almost to the barrel threads. I have a Aero Precision lower already built that needs a spouse anyway.

Can’t go wrong with the PWS MK114. I have the mod2. I have been a PWS owner since 2007ish. Had pistols, 556 and 308s. I have never had any issues with any of them. The only time I had an issue was with the 7.62x39 upper I had and we traced the problem to the mags.

PWS is what I would have picked also.
I had nothing but bad interactions with POF years and years ago

I’d slap an aero upper on it and call it a day. I didn’t like my AR10 as they are so heavy it’s kinda a bench gun. If I’m shooting on a bench it might as well be a bolt gun for more accuracy. So unless you got some real need I wouldn’t break the bank on it.
