sure there are a few but they tend to be on the pricier side. then again if you were fine with paying for an eotech and magnifier then you should be fine... just going with a flat top upper doesnt really decide a whole lot. its nice because it will allow you to mount any optics you want but you should figure out a purpose for the rifle. Just in case you dont understand what we mean here are a couple examples:
-lightweight carbine ( 14.5'' or 16'' barrel) usually optics on these have little to no magnification. good for shooting on the move, relatively short range depending on how good a shot you are. still reaching out a few hundred yards depending on bullets used. not intended for target/match use

-bench/target rifle; heavy barreled in the 18"-20" free floated handguards, magnified glass appropriate for the distances you plan to shoot. these can also be taylored for varmint hunting and the like. However all the weight makes them a little heavy to be running/hiking around with.

there are literally dozens of other ways to set up your rifle, and you need to pick the job(s) you wish it to fullfill before anyone can give you good advice.

Thank you bro very much. Honestly if i can hit 1/2 to 1 inch groups a 100yards to 250 yards ill be very happy.

to the range 99% no hunting. Im now thinking that the bench shooting is not for me. I want to go with a 16" will i be able to hit 250 yards? if not screw it, ill just use it for close to mid range.

I have a RRA, but it's the 20" varmint A2. I love it. I think you should be fine with a 16 up to 250yd. But a scope might be better (plus pricepoint) than a eotech + magnifier combo. Glass is kinda expensive but I have a supersniper (some say it's dogshiet) but it fullfills this newb's needs for now. As I get better, I'll upgrade the glass and move the cheaper one to another rifle. yeah, listen up to what riflegear says about the 16" midlength. i have a 14.5 carbine with permanent flash hider. can't put a muzzle break unless i change the barrel it seems.

you can't really go wrong with the many popular brands out there - cmmg, stag, rra, etc.

Well you can, but you have to hack the current flash hider to pieces to get it off.

RRA is good too. there are plenty of good manufacturers out there. Basically, just click on any of the sponsors' links at the top of the page and they will carry most of the big name brands. 1/2"-1" groups huh, it wont be too hard to get an AR to do that at 100yds...but can YOU do that? just making you think about it so when range time comes, just know you have to do your part too. i think you'd be fine with a 16" if 250yds would be your usual max as long as you have a quality upper and barrel. Too add to that, 1" groups are not too difficult to achieve (assuming your doing your part with the trigger), sub MOA does get tricky though. usually requiring heavy barrels (HBAR) and free floated fore-arms. You will also want a good magnified scope and mount if you want to do sub-moa. that extra accuracy will come at the cost of weight. though by the time you squeeze your groups below 1 moa (at 100yds) you can generally reach out farther than 250yds. are you planning on buying a complete upper or building one yourself?

Right on, Fremont's gun shop has 2 RRA For 700 complete 20".... is the one you have a flat top? or is it..... I still cant choose be a flat top or a handle version....
