What do you think the company is going to tell you? They claim (or they did, at one point) that the Dragon has flash suppression capabilities; just as with the device I addressed above, that makes it a flash suppressor per state law.
Yeah that's why I mentioned it might not apply. Physically it doesn't LOOK anything like a flash suppressor which is what some point as as far as being what isn't or isnt considered one.

Given a company can say whatever they want about their product in the pursuit of selling it is their product description the final word on what qualifies as a flash hider? In other words there should be a better "official" qualifier on what is and isn't a flash hider than a bullet point in an advertising blurb. If I sell an A2 flash hider and my box says "DOES NOT SUPPRESS FLASH" does that make it a cal legal muzzle device?

I know that's ridiculous, just pointing out the ridiculousness of it all.

It makes perfect sense if you parse out the actual text of the regulation.

"designed [or] intended" = does the manufacturer claim that the product will "perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter's field of vision"?

"functions to" = does the product actually "perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter's field of vision"?

A representative of the state DOJ has stated on the record the department examines muzzle devices in that exact order.

The large front opening is a feature of flash hiders.

All I want is printable documentation from Lantac stating if the Dragon brake has reduced flash features or not. It's confusing because their official website does not say anything about flash suppression, BUT other retails like Midway and Primaryarms say it does.

          Lantac: https://www.lantac-usa.com/AR15-M16-...s/DGN556B.html

          Midwayusa: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/679...-steel-nitride

          Primaryarms: http://www.primaryarms.com/lantac-dr...1-2x28-dgn556b

          Then again...
          (b) “Flash suppressor” means any device designed, intended, or that functions to perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter's field of vision.
The definition in my interpretation would mean almost all muzzle brakes with little to no top gas ports would redirect flash away from the shooters field of vision.

I mentioned in the thread I linked earlier that Lantac recently changed the wording to eliminate the passage in its marketing language about flash suppression.

I'll take this moment to point out (again) that you can't un-ring a bell.

Ohhh I know what caused the confusion.. I believe you misunderstood my original post because I left out some details. I thought Lantac added the flash suppression definition, not the opposite.

Spikes Dynacomp or similar. I have something like it on my Grendel. The rest I use are linear comps like Troy, Keneti-tech, BRT, etc. I like to send the noise to others.

A while back I ordered a 18" middy barreled upper from SAA and it came with this "Dragons Head brake/compensator" http://www.surplusammo.com/saa-5-56m...ensator-gen-i/ 5 ports facing downrange keeps muzzle blast and noise away from shooter and bystanders. This brake works as advertised. A simple, non bling look, I like it...

Currently OOS so it must be a popular item, at $44.95 I can understand why..

It doesn't matter what it says in the item description right now. The item description only matters when you get arrested. I'm just going out on a limb here, but DOJ isn't going to search for archived web pages from when you bought the device. They'll read the most current product marketing language and make a judgment based on that.
