Lantac Dragon is good, but seems to push my barrel down. Spikes Dynacomp is pretty damn good imho. Also like the Griffin Armament M4SD. I like them all, plus the Spikes and Griffin come in shorter versions too.

Interesting, hadn't seen that before. I wish they did a 30 caliber version of that one (rather than just the Gen1).I have this on my DD: https://danieldefense.com/daniel-def...or-gen-ii.html
I am impressed at how well it works, how quickly a target can be reacquired.Originally posted by CSACANNONEERA real live woman is more expensive than a fleshlight. Which would you rather have?Comment

I have a dragon on a 14.5 and it works great, but it is LOUD. Thinking about swapping all my flash hider uppers to small linear compensator style devices like the kaw valley or levang.
This is also a possibility, but its probably not qualifying
I turned to the Covert Comp from Black River Tactical as a bit of a last resort. I tried several a handful of other linear compensators and found that, while they did direct the blast and flame for…
It visually doesn't look like a flash hider as it doesn't have any cuts, but it does have less flash compared to a normal linear comp.Comment

I did a little research on this for another thread about a week ago -- it's true, but I wouldn't rely on that to make the Dragon a featureless option.
Check posts 335-341 here.
Thank you for following up, and the link. I need to find a solid source on this brake. I bought the Dragon a couple months ago and it's just sitting new still in the package. I'll probably just call Lantac and see what they say.The Right to Arm bearsComment

Is this Fortis a brake that is well within the new Laws? I love the look if the Fortis :-)

I know it's not on your list but I purchased two from Muzzle Brakes and More, one for my 6.5mm RPR and one for my latest AR build. Very, very happy with both. Ports tilted to compensate and a custom taper was added at a very reasonable cost. Four different diameters and configurations. Dramatic reduction in recoil and rise, great price. I didn't use any shims or a crush washer so I had to put it on my lathe to time it. Very happy.Comment

Check out your own link. "Black River Tactical claims that their Covert Comp ... suppresses flash nearly as well as an A2 flash suppressor"; that means it's a flash suppressor per state law.I have a dragon on a 14.5 and it works great, but it is LOUD. Thinking about swapping all my flash hider uppers to small linear compensator style devices like the kaw valley or levang.

What do you think the company is going to tell you? They claim (or they did, at one point) that the Dragon has flash suppression capabilities; just as with the device I addressed above, that makes it a flash suppressor per state law..Comment

There are no changes regarding the definition of a flash hider.
Looking at it, it doesn't look like a flash hider to me: small opening on the front, large side ports, some top ports to reduce climb. If it's advertised as one that's a problem though.Originally posted by CSACANNONEERA real live woman is more expensive than a fleshlight. Which would you rather have?Comment

How's the length compared to an A2 birdcage? Long enough to maintain 16" on a 14.5" barrel?I have this on my DD: https://danieldefense.com/daniel-def...or-gen-ii.html

It's kind of pricey but purchased two of these now, PWS MOD 2 FSC muzzle comps.
Primary Weapons Systems was formed by firearm enthusiasts in 2008. Starting out by producing muzzle devices, we tested our compensators on all different types of rifles - from M4/AR-15's to AK-47s. After using both styles of rifles in testing with high round counts, the difference in maintenance needed was both astounding. From that basic realization, the PWS long-stroke piston system was born; keeping the core values of the AR-15 design, while also lessening the need for maintenance in high-volume fire situations and adverse conditions.
They are awesome on my PTR91 and I hope I get the same results when I get my RFB unjailed. Great comp for a .308 follow up shots are amazing,
It probably makes a .223 feel like a .22 probably and my neighbors don't get blasted by the gases either. It is loud though, hehe

Have you not read anything in this thread? He's looking for something that isn't a flash hider. It's kind of pricey but purchased two of these now, PWS MOD 2 FSC muzzle comps.

Also, RFB needs an extended muzzle device to reach 30" (for now at least)... and not just a normal extended one, REALLY long.Originally posted by CSACANNONEERA real live woman is more expensive than a fleshlight. Which would you rather have?Comment
