I don't really recommend any mods on this item. If you go too deep on the top surface you will compromise its structual integrity.

Besides this item is not round. You will have to make a jig or custom clamps to center it on a lathe.

Question RADD, Why the o ring and not just extend the protruding base?

While the o ring works, it looks amiturish and can lead to an illeagle status inadvertantly.

Just used my new AR radlock this past weekend. Switched from 7.62 x 39 upper locked, to .22 LR upper unlocked. No issues. When the lock was screwed down, it didn't back out or have any play. The range master there noticed the new button, and it convinced him to got out order one.

To get more texture, you can use skateboard tape and cut out a silouhette of the bullet button face and stick it on.

The problem is the inconsistency of the AR Mag Catch thread height. I have 2 parts kit and found the height where the button threads on are 1mm different from each other. The shorter one does not even require the O-ring for the AR Raddlock to sit flush, while the taller one does.

So, the O-Ring provide a safe standoff in the different spec Mag-Catch.

Second of all, the O-ring provide none abrasive medium between the AR Raddlock and your receiver, so there is no Metal to Metal contact to rub off your nice Black Rifle Finish.

Third, No Rattling and very tight fit.

However, if you are absolutely paranoid about being busted in some way. I suggest you file or dremel off 1mm off your mag-catch if you happen to have the taller mag-catch. But, if you believe and understand the laws, then I don't think you should have anything to fear. Please do read and follow the instruction though.

Not paranoid at all , just interested in in your design reasoning. I have one of your new locks installed on my newest carbine build.

As far as finish wear goes, Well my black rifles are built to use, not baby.

Do Not disassemble the AR Raddlock! It will be a ***** to assemble without the right tools.

                PM sent.

                      AR-10 Receiver Issue

Think of it as investment for your future.

                      AR-10 Receiver Issue:

Those of you using the AR Raddlock on the AR-10 Receiver, I strongly recommend you use original AR-10 Mag-Catch instead of the AR-15 Mag-Catch. The AR-10 Mag-Catch stud is longer than the standard AR-15 Mag-Catch Stud. This will allow the stud seat closer to the top of the AR Raddlock to enable release with a bullet tip.

Bump. I got mine from Rifle Gear.

                          A quick review:

I had a Bullet Button installed when I bought my complete lower, and I'd never messed with it, but it was really, really easy to install the Raddlock.

The Raddlock works as advertised: just like the BB in the CA-legal position, and four full turns makes it function like a 49-state mag-release.

                          I'm completely satisfied.

                          Anybody need a Bullet Button?

My question might be in here but I couldn't find it searching.
I had one issue installing my AR raddlock.
It seems that the shoulder portion of my mag catch is too long (Stag LPK) so when I first put it on, I had to use both o-rings in order to make the housing flush with my receiver. This also made the button feature less than reliable.
Not being satisfied with having to use both o-rings and barely gettting it seated, I decided to file down the shoulder just past the threads so it wouldn't bottom. The right thing to do would've been to thread it the rest of the way but I don't have an extensive thread kit.
My mag catch shoulder is ugly now but no one will ever see it.
                            Anyone else had this issue?

                            Thanks

I just installed mine that I picked up from Ammo Bros!!!! I love it. It works great and is very easy to install. It took me about 10 min and I was talking on the phone the whole time I was installing it. Thanks again Radd!!!
