    JFK Assassin's Rifle

Would like to as people familiar of the bolt action rifles to weight in on the Italian Carcano rifle and the likely hood of it being the actual weapon used to shoot JFK. Serious discussion only and no trolling please. Would also like to hear would you would think in there was another weapon used and if so what kind?

You'll never see that particular rifle in public hands again. And no, there was only one rifle involved.

Why will no one see that rifle again?

        Curious also...?
The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren't enough criminals,
        one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it
becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

The other rifle involved was the AR carried by the secret service agent George Hickey in the follow up car. At least thats the theory I subscribe to.

I don't think that weapon was standard issue at the time...

The actual rifle is kept next to the arc and some cup.

I dont know that it was standard issue but Agent George Hickey had an AR that day. You can see him holding it in the follow up car in the footage and from witness testimony. The wound to the back of JFK's head is consistent with 5.56. The other wound us consistent with the Carcano.

I found it interesting why Oswald selected a Carcano to assassinate the President.
He was a former US Marine and so a well trained rifleman. In those days there were certainly other rifles available to him and it would seem that he wouldn't have much familiarity to that old model.

I read the same book, which out of all the various theories seems to me the one that doesn't require Occam's Razor to split atoms. Funny thing: about a month after JFK's death, the Army issues a warning bulletin about how the firing pin had enough momentum when chambering a round to fire the round; this necessitated a change to the buffer assembly. Secret Service SOP at the time was to carry long guns cocked and on safe, with an empty chamber, and magazine in place.

IIRC, he got it for about $7.00 from the back of a magazine.

Probably cheap price and mail order availability.

Military battle rifle in the hands of a trained marksman? Yeah he did it.

All his shots were at between 50 and 75 yards. My wife with minimal training can keep all shots on a 8 inch gong at 100 yards, off hand with a AK-47 clone. Just saying,
