Can't find any bolt guns currently being manufactured in .35 Remington, but there have been some made in the past. there is a Remington Model 600 in .35 Remington on Gun Broker right now. They are out there but you might have to spend some time looking.

That's what I'm talking about. That would be the perfect bolt action hog rifle imo anyway.

got my only pig so far, with Savage 99 in 300 Savage. That is a great combo; nice cartridge(base for 308) in a solid handy lever action...

The 375 Winchester in a Lever gun should also be good hog medicine.

338 Hog Hunter by Savage. Big bump up from 30-06.

Nice price, good reviews, comes with iron sights, threaded barrel, handy length. 338 should give you range, but 20" barrel still handy. Could be "scout" or urban anti-bodyarmor sniper.

Only down side is ammo cost even bigger bump up from 30-06, but if you ONLY gonna use for pigs, might as well get a gun CALLED a Hog Hunter.

heat some oil in a wok or whatever you want to stir fry in. Toss in green onion sliced thin. When aromatic, toss in sliced yellow onion. When almost translucent, toss in garlic. When aromatic, toss in beef heart (drain all that fish sauce!!) and cook for a minute or two. Salt and pepper if needed (maybe a smidge of pepper, salt unlikely).

Takes 3 minutes to do while you are taking care of the meat, and makes for a lovely meat butchering snack.

Not too rich cause you are eating so little of it at each go.

                  ---------

as soon as I read "straight fish sauce" I thought it was gonna be awful. It was perfect.
I will give that a try when I get a pig this year...that is if the heart isnt destroyed!

I've used a rifled shotgun barrel with sabot slugs, but that was a few years back. I have little ones now and have not hunted in 6 years or so. I use a regular 870 with a rifled barrel I bought from Cabelas and a Bushnell scope on top. Does about 3 inch group or less. As I've gotten older, I've become recoil sensitive and don't really shoot that anymore. If I do get to hunt in rifle country, I use a 308 with Barnes bullets and my handloads, brushy areas, I use an Encore handgun in 308 with a 10mm, full loads with Silvertips, as back up. Amazing what a muzzle brake can do for recoil. The Encore has reduced loads with a brake.

I've killed a couple with 20 gauge slugs out of rifled slug barrels.. One with a Federal round loaded with a Barnes saboted copper bullet..... excellent performer, and the pig died before it finished falling down.. Another with a Duplek...... got the job done, but not as accurate and made a mess with the expanding steel petals.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Leupold makes a specific Hog reticle called "Pig Plex" and have a great scope the VX-HOG 1-4x20mm Riflescope. Opticsplanet has them for $229. This scope is unbelievably clear and crisp with it's Mark 4 lenses and coatings.
