I love my .30-30, I inherited it from my dad in near perfect condition, never been hunted a day in it's life (maybe I'll take it hunting, maybe I won't). I enjoy occasionally shooting it for all sorts of reasons and, as I said, I keep going back and forth about whether I'll take it hunting some day.
That being said, why the sudden resurgence in .30-30 popularity? Ammo is scarce and people are apparently hoarding lever evolution like it's dragon gold. What's the deal?
Is it just that people are frightened that their ARs might get taken away and in searching for a 'high' capacity middle weight cartridge and gun to replace it are flocking to the .30-30 lever guns? I would have thought the .44s and .357s would have been a better fit.
