So having to listen and make a fast shot makes hearing protection difficult
I wear hearing protection while hunting because I can hear BETTER with the electronic hearing protection on than I can without them.

        Yes, most assuredly.
A key feature of snowflakes is to presume that they know better - as to how you should behave and what you should do with your property.
There are noise statutes keeping you from disturbing me in the middle of the night in my home. Ignore them and I will come out and have a very unenjoyable chat with you.
Complain about my muzzle brake at the range and I will suggest that you use a different bench until you can afford proper hearing protection. Then I will probably double my rate of fire. And possibly imitate a crying baby during breaks.

I keep a set of the electronic type next to my Roscoe and flashlight.

                    You misunderstood.
I was not calling anybody stupid, just the premise.

I don’t presume, it is a fact that a brake is louder to the side and the shooter then no brake. I have my life experiences and others have theirs.
I am only stating my opinion and it should only be taken as such.
Without being easily offended (a real snowflake trait).

I do not think you need to worry about anybody complaining about your brake at the range. People are just as tolerant with bad breath as with a muzzle brake, they both are unpleasant.

                        Peltor TEP-100
I think they were around $300.
Db reduction rating is 23db , 27db or 30db depending on which tips you use.

It's trippy when you wear them because you hear game moving around you that you don't hear without them.
You also hear how much noise you make when you walk or move around.
Every little leaf or twig you step on or change jingling in your pocket etc.

There are several different sized earbuds that you can swap out.
They are a consumable item and they will eventually wear out from taking them in and out of your ears.
They also do a REALLY good job of pulling out your ear wax.
You might have to buy a few different sizes to find what you like the best.
I think it only comes with mediums.

I tried hunting with walker game ears once 8 years ago. Same experience as you in that I could hear everything. The main issue I had was as I could hear every tiny sound, but I couldn't differentiate what direction they were coming from. Has the technology improved, so you can hear directional sounds? It's a no go for me if I can't tell which direction the sounds are coming from.

OP, check out the new self timing brakes from Bugholes.com.

tsmithson - why are you even here if you have nothing to add besides negative comments and opinions?

I run one of these since it came with the rifle. Also a Schuler on my .308.
