The people I see using brakes on a 6.5CM, I can assure you are NOT snowflakes.

My Full Bird Colonel stepfather had me running 2 miles before breakfast everyday starting in the 3rd grade. So pretty close guess. I had quarters bouncing off my squared away bed also.

Nothing wrong with the 6.5 or most other calibers.
Way too much overhype on the 6.5. Great gun for medium range target shooting.

Muzzle brakes seem to come with a lot of calibers that don’t need them these days.

Ross Schuler brakes are my favorite. Very cheap and are a great combo of recoil reduction without being too loud.

For the person shooting?
How about the person on the bench next to them?

Nothing better then having your neighbor on the bench next to you unnecessarily slapping you in the face and blowing out your ears from a brake that the gun doesn’t need.

Indeed. And having one go off on the bench next to you as you are trying to get a good shot off is more than just unpleasant. The shock wave slap as much as the noise.

It was very funny, though, when my buddy shot his braked rifle from prone on snowy ground, under a snow-filled tree! Dusty ground is almost as humorous.

Benches?....I get your irritation if you must use a range where others are so close to you that you feel that, however to me that doesn't apply. To the range issue, who was there first?
However, who are you to say what another person’s rifle needs or doesn't?

Skip the brake....buy a heavy rifle...



Add a scope and a bipod and you will be at about 13lbs.....well.....at least that is what mine weighs. Last weekend I got tired of hitting 8" swingers at 400yds, so dialed the Zeiss out to 700 and hit the silhouette at 700yds 5 times in a row at SLOSA. 142 SMKs over H4350. 20 rounds fired and no appreciable recoil or effect on my shoulder....

Yall never cease to impress me. Thanks for all the suggestions. I saw several for the 419 and the apa lil bastard. I am going to look more into those.

No the rifle isn't too much for me to handle. Yes I want it to reduce the jump to spot my own shots. The gun its going on is a 24" heavy barrel with a heavy h+s precision pts012 stock.

And I enjoyed all the witty snowflake banter. Well played. Not productive, but entertaining.
