    Muzzle brake for 6.5 creedmoor

I have a rem 700 5r in 6.5 creedmoor. What would the braintrust recommend for a muzzle brake?

I have a APA little bastard on mine. It’s really really loud but works great.

To watch for splash at 1,000 to 1,500 yards without a spotter.

                This spotting impact, wind/dope.

As for OP's question, I like the APA bastard.

A brake makes the gun stay on target better so you can spot your impacts through the scope.

Brakes actually help spotting the CLOSER shots much more than the longer range targets as an unbraked rifle will typically jump off target and then back on target if your position behind the gun is good.
The shorter ranges inside about 500yds have shorter flight times so the impacts coincide with the gun movement.
At 500yds and beyond, the gun has usually jumped and landed back on target so you can see the impacts fine even without a brake as long as your position is good.

A brake allows you to have a sloppier position and not lose the target.

When I was a kid at 18 it was very easy to shoot my 30-06 standing and see my hits at 100yds to 200yards away every time.

Learn to shoot and keep your eyes open through the scope. Basic and simple.
Maybe you need to put a thousand rounds down range so your not scared of the gun?

You know what has less recoil and EZ to see the splash- full time spotter.

I know the sarcasm is on the heavy side but we are talking 6.5CM right?

                      Snowflake on the gun range?

The 6.5 CM has 30% less recoil then a 308.

                          Muzzle brake

I have a brake on my 6.5 X 55 Rem. 700 build. Glad I did it. Makes what was a soft recoil to virtually nothing. It works for me. All you narrow minded folks need to lighten up. The only one of my precision rifles that will not have one is the .223 ( 26" Heavy Barrel ) Don't knock it till you try it
                          I won't be wronged
                          I won't be insulted
And I won't be laid a hand on.

                            Sorry,
Latent frustration from years of hearing how the 6.5CM is The best Cool-Aid EVER. I guess an extra scoop of sugar(brake) in the Cool-Aid makes everything better OR can it be over sweetened?

“More accurate and lighter recoil then any other caliber.””You can hunt all North American big game with it and most of Africa.” “The 6.5CM can walk on water.”

Brakes are obnoxious and if they can be avoided, they should. I believe you can have hearing damage even with protection from the brake going off next to you. JMHO

                            But to each their own.

I bet your grandmother also made you run to school in a freezing blizzard, ten miles, naked, while she sat in her Buick.
The people I see using brakes on a 6.5CM, I can assure you are NOT snowflakes.
