It took me 9 months but I finally picked a rifle. I went with the Savage Tactical in 300wm. Out the door including dros it was $515.

          Nice!
The Savage won’t let you down - basically everything is $2 to $4 per shot now, might as well get a big boom out of it!

Nice rifle! I have a Howa heavy barrel in 300WM simply because the deal was too good to pass up.

That generic picture has a single sling swivel and a Magpul magazine, but the one I bought in October has two sling swivels like in the youtube, and a steel Accurate Mag.

Highly unlikely you will find 300wm ammo in for a year to come. More likely you will find 223, 308 ammo as it is more common and sell faster. Easily buy a 223 or 308 now days.

When I went to start dros I found some for $1.85 a round. I don't know how much it was last year.

I bought a Mossberg Patriot during last year's Black Friday sales, just to play with. Out of the box it was a 3 -4 MOA gun, and it took a lot of gymnastics and tinkering to get it to shoot ~1 MOA. Hand loading, pillar bedding, and new scope mount blocks were the final solution, and the way the rifle is built did not make that an easy task. I know it is an anecdotal sample of one, but the way the stock and magazine well is built is pretty stupid, and does not lend itself at all to accurizing.
