Sorry. Yes family photos for sure.
I need to do the same.
My interests have changed so much over the years.
    Mil-sup collecting, bolts/single shot rifles, AK's, AR's, ccw pistols, to SSA/levers.

Yep. First, it was bolt action rifles for YEARS. Then, a couple handguns, Then, shotguns. I don't upland bird chase as much as I used to, but, still have the shotguns And now, lever rifles! So far, only three: Marlin 39A[1957], Win Mod 94 in 30-30 and Henry BB brass in .357/.38spl. Soon to add another; just not certain what caliber yet. I'm not good at all with picture posting, but, I'll give it another whirl. Do like those lever guns!

Personally, I don't care. Have fun with your .45 Colt-chambered piece. This thread isn't about .45 Colt...

Since Marlin has not yet offered this short, light, handy stainless carbine (the SBL, CSBL or the CST) in .45 Colt, the .44 Magnum chambering is what we have, and the .44 Magnum, loaded with anything between 180 grain and 330+ grain projectiles offers more than enough capability and versatility for my needs.
Anything over about 280 grains usually doesn't cycle through a stock 1894.

This thread is about Marlin lever action rifles, which I am a huge fan of. I personally own about 15 of them, mostly 1895's and all but 3 are JM guns.

While ultimate velocity for the cartridge may suffer, one may load longer bullets in Special brass. There are data for this.

And, yes; you are correct, this thread is about Marlins, but the OP spoke only of the .357s CST, CSBL and the .44 SBL.

Glad to hear you're a fan. I too think they're the best thing going in this department. The Winchester '92 may be more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but nothing shoulders like a Marlin, nor are they as easy to disassemble and reassemble.

And I may have been mistaken earlier; the 1895 receiver blank may be a little longer...

Spyder, are you loading those .38's in .38 cases or .357 cases? Asking 'cuz, in my Henry, .38spl loads work ok, but, .357 length cases seem smoother to feed.
Loading some .38+p rounds today, only in .357 cases using Unique.

I'm going to wind up doing both. First run will be 38 cases, as I have about 10 gallons worth of them, and it's the first thing I grabbed. I have plenty of 357 cases too, but... ideally I'll get a load that shoots excellent in the Marlin and in my Blackhawk, Security Six, and Dan Wesson without having to do any changes.

What bullets work good in your lever action with the .38 cases?
