The big loop seems like it would actually be slower to operate.

It's a medium-sized lo0p, and your hand has to travel another 1 inch... hardly slow at a rapid-fire pace. It takes longer to get my front sight back on target with a recoiling round like a heavy .44 Magnum.

MEANWHILE... remember that my phone rang? While I was on the phone with pennstater? IT WAS MY LGS... from which I had just returned home after stopped there on my way from work.

I bought the Ranger Point loading gate spring, haven't gotten a chance to install it yet.

Loading rounds today was about as expected for a brand new stock Marlin, which is to say not difficult, but not ideal. I was able to load it fine, but I'm looking forward to the easier loading after.

The edges around it though...the receiver is smoothed over with no sharp edges to hang up on. Very nice. It was dumping rain today and I didn't have time to really mess with it, but I am more excited now than before, after having put a couple boxes of ammo through it!

Mine helped a lot. I plan to notch the factory spring and see if that helps.
