So you are suggeting we should let the abosulte WRONG information stand without correcting it? That is how people get arrested. I understand there are forums that are better suited for debate and they should be brought into it, but miss information should be corrected, debated, etc. and not just left to stand.

As for the forward pistol grip on a pistol, the issue is not a State one it is a Federal one. There was a 2006 ATF open letter stating this on their website, but I having trouble finding it. So perhaps they changed their opinion?

This was the reason commercial pistol conversions of the HK MP5K for civilians changed the designs of the handguards to not have a forward pistol grip.

What the HK MP5K actually looks like.

    Civilian Legal Version (Clone)

The above civilian legal version is still way too expensive for my blood. So a while back I built a 9mm AR Pistol. Here it is...

Most of the AR pistols you see are in 223 or 556. So it was a little on the unique side. I really enjoyed it, but needed to fund another project so it got sold off.

As for FVGs...I fully admit things may have changed since way back in 2006, but I would like to see evidence of it rather than just accept it just because a really smart guy on Calguns.net told me so.

I assume things haven't changed since everybody has made such a HUGE deal about the ATF's decision that the AFG is NOT considered a VFG.

Not at all. What I'm saying is point the person to one of the other many threads out there that deal with this topic (or start a new informational thread) and leave this one for its stated purpose - pics of AR pistols.
      Slow justice is no justice.

I was shooting a Glock when shooting a Glock wasn't cool.

I included one of my favorite AR pistol that I have built to the end above to keep ya happy.

Here is another AR pistol I built, a clone of the GAU-5 Rifle I was issued when I was in the USAF. Notice the use of the standard adjustable buffer tube. Which is perfectly legal...yet causes tons of experts to flip out...despite the fact that the ATF released a letter saying it was perfectly legal.

If only it were legal to have SBRs here. I miss the real one something fierce.

Here is a scan of the ATF letter that says using a standard rifle or adjustable type tube is fine on an AR Pistol (took forever to find it...and I found it here on Calguns.net). Mr. Nixon could have been a little more conceise and spelled out the different types of buffer tubes he was talking about, the original question asked about standard rifle buffer tubes and the adjustable type tubes. Notice that he does warn about the possibility of them nailing you with "contructive possession" if you have an end stock "readily available". However, that is pretty unclear. Do the mean in the same rifle bag? Probably. Do the mean in a box in a closet? Maybe. Do they mean installed on your other Rifle AR? Definately not. Who the heck knows?

Finally grabbed an upper to throw on my pistol lower. I only paid $300 for the complete upper (from JSE) and then threw on some mods, of course! I really like the TROY rail, it's super-lightweight and solid. I've heard good and bad things about the GSE pistol buffer, but I'll have to see for myself it works on mine. It's just a fun-shooter, nothing I'm gonna take into battle (all those battles I plan to go into.)

Anyway, just threw this together and took a quick snapshot - my dog thinks this is for him (it's his size.)

Thanks! And thanks for the smooth transaction on the rail - it allowed me to build exactly what I had pictured in my mind. Let's see yours!

Neoprene. ACE Stocks sells several lengths but their's only fits standard tubes, not the tubes with adjustable notices. A lot of pistol buffer tube kits come with them. Becareful installing these, too much force and they will tear.

That's what we call "wishful thinking"! About the only ACE Hardware is good for is locktite and the occassional lost bolt for an accessory.
