Its OK, he only did it to take picsOriginally posted by impactcoSo, you attached your pistol upper to a rifle lower with stock.
Nice SBR!

that said, looking at hte pics, it appears that he might have just removed the end cap from the pistol buffer tube and slid the buttstock on for the pic. If so, there would be no recoil assembly in the firearm. But that doesn't mean that it can't fire one round before it destroys itself. Still an SBR if it will go bang, even without a recoil assembly in it.,Last edited by ke6guj; 01-24-2011, 7:29 PM.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

duh, totally missed the color difference between the lowersOriginally posted by impactcoFrom the photos, it appears to be the lower from his rifle. His pistol lower matches the pistol upper in the photos.
Really stupid to post this IMO.

Gentlemen,
As expected, there will be some flak after posting those pics. FYI, there is no buffer and spring since the tan and black internal parts don't match, hence it's just a picture. I know enough when it comes to the law and my right to post anything unless it is blatantly offensive to others. Some people just need to calm down. As I mentioned on my initial post, strictly FOR PICTURE PURPOSE ONLY. You are right it is stupid to be posting a picture of an ILLEGAL WEAPON, that's why I stated it's just a picture. Hell, I've fought in Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times and I think I've earned the right to have some fun. This is also to stress how I WISH, I(we) can have the real thing (SBR).
Sorry if my simple "make believe" picture got you upset. Thank you for those who read and understood.Comment

0311Doc is that a Surefire U2 on your rifle? NICE!!Comment

I don't recall seeing a legal exemption for using 30 round mags "for picture purposes" neither, but yet they're all over this website. It's all "make believe" for us Californians, I think we can have some fun by using visual aids, really, really sad.Comment

What did you find so stupid, regarding my post? If it was the picture of my "make believe SBR" simply because it is a banned weapon, I can understand. If that were the case, it APPEARS on your avatar (profile picture) you are firing a belt-fed automatic machine gun. Regardless if that picture was taken elsewhere. So what's the difference?Originally posted by impactcoFrom the photos, it appears to be the lower from his rifle. His pistol lower matches the pistol upper in the photos.

Actually, you're seeing 10/30 mags in most instances. First, let me thank you for your service. It is very unfortunate that none of us, including ex military, can legally own a modern SBR here in California.
The gun in my avatar is a semi-auto M2HB and is 100% legal in California. What did you find so stupid, regarding my post? you are assuming that they are 30-round mags and not 10/30's.
unless you want to claim that it was a dummy barrel in that upper, then it is pretty obvious that that is a pic of an SBR you made. and by the wording of the posting, I would assume that you don't have any SBR tax stamp. claiming that it didn't have a buffer or spring becuase the internal parts don't match doesn't make much sense to me unless the pistol upper uses a shortened BCG. Otherwise, the carbine buffer assembly would stay with the rifle lower.Jack

My point exactly. It does use a different BCG. Can't we all just get along? It doesn't matter if they are 10 or 30 round mags THEY'RE JUST PICTURES.you are assuming that they are 30-round mags and not 10/30's.

Thanks IMPACTCO for the clarification and your appreciation of warfighters. I appreciate your service as well, my point is, to any regular dummy like me, your avatar LOOKS like a you were using an ILLEGAL machine gun, but I know it's just a picture. Thank you and for the sake of brotherhood and goodwill, I will remove the picture.Actually, you're seeing 10/30 mags in most instances. First, let me thank you for your service. It is very unfortunate that none of us, including ex military, can legally own a modern SBR here in California. I take no offense to the photo of your SBR configured firearm. It's very cool looking. Unfortunately, the BATF and DOJ generally look upon this with great displeasure.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that I was ex military. You misunderstood my statement. Your service is still greatly appreciated!
