G21SF is my duty gun. G30SF my off duty. I am very happy with both. Both go bang and the rounds seem to go where they're supposed to.

For something different than your 1911 I recommend the M&P 45 which you can find via private party for XD45. You can get an Apex kit for the M&P and PRP kit for the XD to them into excellent shooters. Both guns will have rails for a weapon light. Alternatively you can look for a P220. The ones on CA roster do not have LCI but they are a about $300 more than a M&P 45 and XD 45.

I personally do not like the USP because of the ergos. I have small hands so the USP does not work for me.

I shoot a .44 mag for piggies and a 1911 for defense. I'd like something modular that I could put a light on it and maybe a delta point sight. My 1911 is a ww1 copy with the wooden grips, so I'd like to keep it looking "old".
The FNX45 holds 15 plus one. HK45 is 10. The fn is a great gun but pita to take apart and put back together. If you break the part may not replace as easy as glock.

                    I vote for a g21. Softest shooting 45 I have.

HK .45, or just buy some ten round CMC Power mags, problem solved.

I have found that my M&P 45 feels as close in my hand to my 1911's as far as ergonomics, especially if you get the thumb safety model. The trigger is not the best, but I quickly got use to mine.
If I had to describe myself in one word it would be "bad at following directions"

Really like my Sig P227. Might be pretty tough to get one in California though.

At this point I won't suggest any off roster guns to people, there is just no point unless I'm the one selling

                                I love my FNP. 45
They were replaced by the FNX .45 great guns if your not worried about concealment and they tame the .45 very well.
