    What .45 should I get?

Looking for a double stack .45 mainly for home defense. Want the extra rounds as I already have a 1911. What recommendations do my calgun friends have? Looking at spring fields and maybe glock? Dunno, what's out there guys? Thanx!

How many extra rounds are you looking for?

You're going to get at least one answer for every double stack .45 out there, but if it's for home defense I'd just get a G21 and be done with it.

Buy made in USA whenever possible.

I went with the G30S as we can only have 10 these days.

It's like a Honda dirt bike; you can't go wrong with Glock.

Well, my 1911 has 7, so I'm looking for the max legal, which in this state I believe is 10, but as I may move in the future, I want the flexibility of getting more if I ever need it.

I shoot a .44 mag for piggies and a 1911 for defense. I'd like something modular that I could put a light on it and maybe a delta point sight. My 1911 is a ww1 copy with the wooden grips, so I'd like to keep it looking "old".

Unless you are hi-cap exempt why not a Chip McCormick 10rd power mag or similar for your current 1911 or are you looking for an excuse to buy a new gun? I will be more than happy to come up with any reason why you need a new gun over your current gun.

You can buy quite a few 10 round 1911 mags for the price of either and still have money left for ammo.

For the record, I'm always looking for an excuse to but a new gun- let's all be clear on that! I want to keep my current 1911 as "old looking" as possible, I don't want to upgrade it. I just want feedback on hi-cap 45's that fellow cal gunners feel good about.

                  Yes, I just want a new gun. I'd love a 45 so I don't have to buy different handgun ammo. I already have a 22 and 44 mag. Don't want a 40, or 10 mm or 9 mm.

                    H&K USP 45

I've been happy with my H&K USP 45, a polymer frame gun with absolute reliability and a double stack magazine. I use it often for home defense and range, as it is full size gun and really not suitable for carry.

Well I just picked up a M&P full size (the shorter barrel though) that I like a lot. Very good value for the money. I'd love to get a double stack 1911 at some point though. Would love an Infinity one day.

Cool man, it would not be a carry gun or a hunting gun. It would be in a safe by bedside.

Also, it would be a full size gun I forgot to mention. Thanx for that. I'll look at prices for the hk

I am very impressed with my Sig 227. If you can find one here in California, grab it.
