    Joseph,

We received your gun on November 4th and you expected it to be DROSed immediately in the busiest time of year with SSE coming to an end. I spoke with you 2 days ago and informed you that we can see if we can try and squeeze you in but I need to see how many people pickup this weekend and if someone doesn't mind being pushed back to squeeze you in. I cannot just put you in front of everyone else because you decided last minute to transfer in 2 pistols and don't have patience. We told you today that we found someone who doesn't mind waiting another week so we will DROS you in roughly 5 days.

I never told you we were too busy for you, we told you we do not have any SSE kits available. I guess for you that was not good enough so you continued to calls us 13 times within 30 minutes trying to get an update today and voice your dissatisfaction and discontent.

We will be happy to ship your gun but you will need to pay shipping and the transfer fee.

Sorry but to ship a gun to us in November and expect to be DROSed immediately wasn't possible when thousands of people are doing the same in this state. Of course we will not retaliate, that is just childish and insulting to assume.

Seems kinda ridiculous to have waited this long, and be pissed that there is a back log. How long has it been known that 12/31/14 is the deadline?

First time SSE with 2 months left and expect immediate DROS? Should have asked all the details before transfer.

Jamie, keep up the awesome work!

There are many shops with waiting lists for SSE. If it's so time-sensitive, you need to tell them that before you order it so you can be sure they'll accommodate you.

It sounds like they offered to work with you, so what's the problem? Now because you unloaded on them it's going to be awkward to go in?

SSE doesn't depend on an abundance of personnel, it depends on available conversion parts. Those get locked up for 10 days at a time if not more. Did you send this pistol to the FFL before working out the SSE timeline with them? You don't just ship a gun to a FFL and expect them to start the SSE right away. It is always something you schedule, and expect to wait up to 6 weeks.

I had to wait 4 weeks just to SSE a P226 recently, but it was no problem because I started the process 4 weeks before I could DROS again anyhow. All my SSEs have been arranged a month or two in advance for at least the last 6 pistols. You need to be thinking a month ahead, or more.

Also, buying a pistol from somewhere else then transferring it in for SSE usually gets you 2nd class service compared to customers who bought the pistols from the FFL doing the SSE - just sayin. This is the worst time possible to be new to SSE and trying to buy off roster pistols on your own out of state for a dealer transfer. Every dealer I know, large and small, has a waiting list for SSE.

And don't blame anyone for your other dream pistol being out of stock, you always had the option of buying it when you could. I have harder to get pistols I paid for 3 months ago still waiting for the right time to DROS. My last SSE of the year was locked in with cash months ago. This is also not the time to be doing Just In Time purchases on hard to get guns. Get them locked in when you see them, 'cause the party is over Jan 1.

Did I miss the part where the OP with "anonymous" in his screen name identified both the FFL and his own real name? I'm on my phone so I may have missed it.

I just love it when sound advice is given, and then ignored. Sucks to be the OP, but the consequences are justified I think.

They told me theres alot of people ahead of me. That it will take 6-8 weeks. Im planning of doing a second sse but they cant even do the one that i have with them. So the second gun that im planning to buy online for sse ( baer utc) is already gone. I wasnt able to buy it because they did not give me any information on my first order. I understand that they dont have enough personel. So i asked them to ship the gun to another ffl.

Now im worried about the shipping cost. Also im worried they might retaliate because i have been bugging them. What do i do if they retaliate? If they give me a hard time? How much is the shipment?
Sorry to hear that. You should have called a head and asked if they had a kit available or found an FFL that has an unlimited supply of kits. If you used Orange County Firearms in Fountain Valley there is no wait time (other then the person ahead of you in the store) and they have as many kits as needed for any and every gun. Good luck.
