Dan Wesson Valor.. Just picked up a Heritage and have a Valor inbound! Awesome 1911s for the money, that seems to climb up in price.

The Wiley Clapp Colt is nice too.

I see a lot of suggestions for the G21 gen 4. If you're leaning that way I'd strongly recommend you try out the M&P .45. Much nicer trigger and feels much more comfortable in the hand. The Sig p320 is also a good option, even if .45 isn't out yet. I'm waiting on my 30 day to end to DROS mine, and the M&P is my last one for the year. If I had a third, I'd go with the Gen 4 Glock though.

              +1 M&P .45, very ergonomic.

Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is arithmetical at best.

a good condition Norinco 1911. Sent it out to a good gunsmith to swap out all the internal parts.

hk45 or hk45c. Also remember that HK is doing a $200 mail in rebate til the end of december. Might sway your decision

All right, update - I decided to go with the HK45, most in part to the $200 rebate.

I was a tiny bit disappointed to see that the one I am DROSing was made in the USA, whereas the HK site shows one made in Germany. I suppose it doesn't matter a whole lot, but my name is Dieter after all. Is it just luck of the draw where they're made?

Anyway, one down, one to go……...
