If budget is not an issue i would get a nice 1911.
If you are on a budget, i seriously consider the SAR K2 .45Last edited by stitch_paradox; 11-02-2014, 7:42 AM.Comment

FYI
If you get the G41, you can purchase a G21 gen 4 slide later
Then you have a Gen 4 G21 as well
What you haven't stated is what style you like
Striker Fired
DAO ( striker fired ) DA / SA or SA only
That will narrow down the field"While it may come as a surprise to the authors of the legislation, most semi-automatic pistols do in fact come with a pistol grip"Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply is arithmetical at best.Comment

Wow! I only expected a few responses! Thanks all, I really appreciate the input! Gives me some very good directions for studying up on these various suggestions and making a call - they've gotta be good ones since I've only got two left and they've gotta count!
I see that HK is offering a $200.00 rebate starting yesterday through the end of the year, and the HK45 is ONE of the ones included.
I have been debating - do I want another polymer-framed pistol, or all metal? There IS something about all metal that I like, though perhaps not the most practical factor upon which to make a decision.Comment

Exactly, my safe is a polymer hide out. I need some steel in there to shake things up.Wow! I only expected a few responses! Thanks all, I really appreciate the input! On the note the Dan Wesson is out, I'm a leftie and need ambi safety.Comment

Sig P227 Carry (or Carry SAS).- It is no longer Republican vs Democrat; the battle of the 21st century is authoritarian (Rep+Dem) vs libertarian.

My HK is my first polymer-frame pistol, the rest are all metal. Wasn't sure I'd like it, but it makes some sense for a 45 that would otherwise be very heavy, particularly loaded with a full magazine. Mostly I like the relatively mild recoil. I still prefer steel guns, but the HK45 is a keeper.sigpicComment

HK45, HK45C, DW Valor or off roster TRP, FNX 45, XDS, gen 4 Glock, and CERTAINLY IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT : STI 2011, P220 X-SIX
The STI would be a great choice
