The one weakness of a DE is the black stock finish. It's the only gun I have owned which started to rust. I stripped the finish to bare metal, oil coated it, and mailed it off to Fords refinishing. They hard chromed it in two weeks and sent it back. I do think the gold finish (actually a titanium derivative - titanium nitride) is a better choice as it's way tougher than chrome and won't flake off should you use a very heavy solvent on the gun. TiN is used to coat cutting bits, and after machining three lowers with one bit, and not seeing any degradation to the TiN finish, I was a believer in the hardness of the material.

Gold looks a bit ostentatious but it's more of a maintainance decision. I hate cleaning guns.

Throws brass that you should pick up as in leave no trace.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

I didn't realize hunting with a Deagle was a thing.

I just bought the 44 a month ago. I have not shot it yet and I may not before it gets sent off for the polished chrome finish. I don't know why but I have just wanted one for some time now. I found mine in a LGS in a barely used condition so it made it worth while to buy since I really wanted the polished chrome.
What the heck. You only live once.
RIP ABBY. You were the finest hunting dog a owner could want.sigpic

To the OP, if you get a DE and want to swap out barrels, make sure you get the Mk XIX. I have a MkVII, which does NOT allow for an upgrade to .50. Not a big worry for me as I like in .44 and didn't want yet another calibre to support, but just keep that in mind if it matters to you.

Do not try and bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth...there is no spoon.

Plus the ranch hand doesn't feel as good in the hand as a standard pistol grip, and does not come in semiautomatic mode
