I have the chance to buy a like new in box (yes he still has the box) 1994 German built P226. He's looking for $600, does the sound reasonable to you all? My research is leading me to believe it's a pretty decent deal.

Lock the slide back, and look at the top of the barrel near the muzzle. How much of the famous Sig smileys do you see?
Disassemble, and take a look at rail wear. -

Buy it just buy it you'll love itsigpicOriginally posted by gun toting monkeyboyYou did ask. They were only following your instructions. Next time be a bit more careful in how you phrase your posts. If you give people a straight line like that, this is about the level of response you are bound to get. Just be glad you didn't post "Date this rifle"... Those pictures are usually very disturbing.

A like new in the box 1994 SIG P226 is not a good deal to me....... Its more like , RUN AND BUY IT kind of a deal.
If I had a chance to buy another German P226 like new in the box for 600.00+PPT , I would buy it and buy a beer for the seller.
I recently bought a transitional ( NO MARKINGS MADE IN GERMANY OR MADE IN USA) SIG P226 . Like new in the box . This was from a LE distributor . I think I paid around 575.00 total and felt like I got it almost for free.
I also recently bought a pair of P225's ( real P225's not P6's) . Both Like new in the boxes with a bunch of extra factory magazines. I paid a total of 1400.00 for both .(Including PPT)
There are MANY people , that would not EVEN look at "CA SPECIAL" on roster SIG's. I would never buy one.
Used , well kept "NORMAL" SIG's will be more and more in demand.
I would buy that P226 any day.
PS. I carried Several SIG's on duty and now carry my P225's off duty sometimes . GREAT GUNS!Comment

Thanks. Not gonna get to excited till I see it in person. It is a former LE gun, buying it from the original owner. He only carried it for about a year before moving on to different employment. He's not positive of the round count, he says it probably well under 1k rounds as he only qualified with it three times then put it back in the box when he changed jobs. According to the owner it gets pulled out and cleaned regularly but he hasn't shot it in years. He offered it to me because he knows I like Sigs and figured I would take better care of it than some random schmo.Comment

I think that mid 1990's all German P226's are some of the VERY best pistols made.Thanks. Not gonna get to excited till I see it in person. It is a former LE gun, buying it from the original owner. By the way , "CA SPECIAL " Sig's with loaded chamber indicators, magazine disconnect and magazines that were tinkered with to accept no more than 10 rounds ( Original capacity is 15 and an optional 20) are actually not as safe and reliable as normal SIG's of original design.
So they did not do anyone any favors , just made them worse. Engineers at SIG SAUER had it right when they designed the gun . They made it a SAFE, RELIABLE and EFFECTIVE weapon.
They did not need help from our politicians.Last edited by ap3572001; 10-04-2014, 2:56 PM.Comment

Tell me where it's at. It will go nicely with the $500 German made P220 I just got.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HDYes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
